Wake Up World – by Sandra Hinchliffe
Today I want to share one of my staple treatments for healing the body and soothing the skin – my 7 Herbs Cannabis Soap recipe.
The ’7 Herbs Recipe’ for herbal cannabis soap includes these 7 ingredients: soapberries, fresh lavender, fresh rosemary, fresh aloe vera, fresh mint, lemon or orange peels, and cannabis…and that’s it! 5 common fresh herbs plus soapberries and cannabis make a herbal soap that is cleansing, purifying and soothing.
I love the fragrance of herbal teas and herbal blends, and this blend really plays well together – and you won’t smell like cannabis afterwards!
Use this soap generously for hair and body; it’s great for itchy scalp too. If you are a person that loves a lot of rich foam, try this soapberry soap kettle technique for creating lots of lather.
The ’7 Herbs’ Cannabis Soap Recipe
Makes a liter of liquid soap. Keep refrigerated and use within 30 days.
Ingredients:
1 quart or 1 liter of water
40 or more* whole, deseeded soapberries split in half
Peels from 3 lemons or 3 oranges, coarsely chopped
1 cup or 10 grams of fresh cut whole lavender stalks, coarsely chopped
1 cup or 10 grams of fresh rosemary, coarsely chopped
1 cup or 10 grams of fresh mint, coarsely chopped
1 medium leaf of fresh aloe vera (8 inches or 21 cm)
3 – 4 grams of cannabis shake OR 1 – 2 grams of flower
*Select the number of berries based on size and potency. Some soapberries are smaller and less potent in terms of their saponin content. I use NaturOli because they are organic and of the Sapindus Mukorossi Himalayan species, which has the highest saponin content.
Preparation:
Rinse the soapberries quickly once in cool water and drain to remove any dust or debris. Put half of the water in a blender along with the aloe vera leaf and chop it, but don’t blend it all the way like you would a smoothie.
Add the soapberries, citrus peels and herbs to a large container or bowl (I like big glass coffee pots for this.) Pour the aloe/water mixture from the blender over this and then add the rest of the water. Allow this to sit 8 hours or overnight.
Transfer the mixture to a pan on the stove and heat to boiling, simmer for 3 minutes and then turn off the stove and allow it to cool for 15 minutes. Pour back into a heat safe glass container such as a coffee pot and allow this to completely cool on the counter. Strain and pour into glass bottles that can be stored in the refrigerator.
The ’7 Herbs’ Cannabis Bath Wash
You will have a “mash” leftover after the soap-making process. My favorite way to use the mash from this recipe is with a cannabis bath wash! This is really simple (good for one bath):
You will need:
1 large size muslin herb or tea bag that has a string to tie it
The leftover mash from the 7 Herbs Cannabis Soap recipe
A bath
Preparation:
Stuff the mash into the muslin bag and tie it tightly.
Throw it in the tub and fill with water.
Leave it in the water while you bathe. You can use the bag of tea as a washcloth or scrubber while bathing too.
Enjoy!
If like my 7 Herbs cannabis soap, I also have another recipe in my book for liquid soap that can be made with or without cannabis if you’d like to check that out, along with my cannabis bath salt recipes which are built on the foundation of many of the same purifying herbs.

This is one use I’d have never thought of.
Me neither.
Sounds nice, but i see no problem with smelling like cannabis or good skunk weed. I’ve been using that fragrance for years! lol
