As the political powers in America campaign to the American people that their second amendment right to bear arms should be limited and tightly controlled, the citizens of the Ukraine are awakened to the realities of a government which limits and tightly controls the right of the people to bear arms. The recent massacre at Independence Square in Kiev was a experience these citizens won’t soon forget.
The embattled citizens of Ukraine learned the hard way that when only the government has guns, there is tyranny and bloodshed. The Ukrainian Gun Owners Association is now pushing for a constitutional amendment recognizing the right to bear arms:
The Ukrainian Gun Owner’s Association has announced that it will, “start to work on the preparation of amendments to the Constitution, which will provide an unconditional right for Ukrainian citizens to bear arms.”
People should have the right to bear arms, which will be put in written into the Constitution.
Authorities should not and will not be stronger than its people!
Armed people are treated with respect!
America’s founding fathers implemented the second amendment because it is a natural right for people to defend themselves.
According to GunPolicy.org, Ukraine’s gun laws are described as restrictive. The government owns seven million guns while there are only three million guns for private citizens. A citizen must prove they have a legitimate reason to own a firearm.
One of the proposed amendments to the constitution which would legalize the right to bear arms states;
“Everyone has the right to freedom of owning a firearm to protect their life and health, housing and property, life and health of other people’s constitutional rights and freedoms in the case of usurpation of power , the encroachments on the constitutional order, sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine. Exercising the right to free possession of firearms is governed by applicable law and may be limited only by the court on the individual. “
As of today Ukrainian Gun Owners Association will start to work on the preparation of amendments to the Constitution, which will provide an unconditional right for Ukrainian citizens to bear arms.
People around the world are waking up to the fact that when only governments have guns, their citizens are truly slaves. People should never have less power than their government, to do so will ensure tyranny.
The question of how much the Ukrainian revolution was a grass roots effort versus being driven by external influences will be put to the test by a demand from some Ukrainian citizens that a right to bear arms be included in the country’s new constitution.
