Iceland’s Capital Adopts Motion to Boycott Israeli Goods

The city council of Iceland’s capital, Reykjavik, has adoped a motion to boycott Israeli-made goods.

Reykjavik City Council voted in favor of the motion, put by Björk Vilhelmsdóttir, councilwoman for the Social Democratic Alliance, on Tuesday.

The boycott will be in place “as long as the occupation of Palestinian territories continues,” the motion said.

According to the motion, it is “a symbolic act,” intended to show the city council’s support for the Palestinian statehood and its condemnation of “the Israeli policy of apartheid,” according to a report in Iceland Magazine.

A member of the governing coalition at the city hall, Sóley Tómasdóttir, told a local radio station that the  boycott is intended to pressure Israel to stop the occupation. She also said the city might follow it up with boycotts of other countries that violate human rights.

Not everyone is in favour, however. Einar Gautur Steingrímsson, a lawyer, said it goes against Iceland’s constitution. “This is as illegal as refusing to do business with red haired people and it makes no difference whether they justify their decision with references to some alleged actions by the Israelis,” he told a local news site, Iceland Magazine said.

According to Ynet, Israel’s Foreign Ministry’s spokesman, Emanuel Nachson said in response that, “A volcano of hate is currently exploding in Reykjavik’s city council building. There is no reason or justification for this move, besides hate itself, which is being heard in the form of calls for a boycott against Israel, the Jewish state. We hope that someone in Iceland will wake up and stop this blindness and one sidedness which is aimed against the only democracy in the Middle East, Israel.”

  1. I’m still wondering why Iceland is the one of the few, if not the only country in the world that is still standing after going against the Jews in every way.

What makes Iceland so special? Any ideas anyone?

When something is too good to be true, it usually is and the fact that Iceland has not been attacked after all of this makes me wonder if they are there as a false beacon of hope created by the elite for the rest of the world.

Anyone else find the lack of action by the Jews towards Iceland’s actions against them a little suspicious?

    1. They may have Iceland setup as a ‘honey-trap’, who really knows…it’s a long way away. I could see it now; people go there to attempt a free life, and they swoop on you the minute you get there and nobody ever sees or hears from you again.

      1. My thoughts exactly!

It’s been bugging me ever since they kicked out the bankers 5 years ago with no consequences. Makes no sense to me at all when even the slightest action in any other country leads to civil war and the discrediting of that nation. What makes Iceland so damn different? A honey-trap or maybe a secret safe haven for the elite and the whole business with them showing the bankers being kicked out was just a front/show to keep the spotlight off of them while they are secretly still there.

Kinda seemed a little staged to me when they showed some video footage years ago of the bankers lining up to get on their planes with the Icelandic people shouting and telling them to go home.

      2. Folks use Occam’s Razor. Iceland is not being attacked by military or commercial means because they are aware and the people have the free time AND desire to stay that way. Iceland shows the real depth of judaics rule. WE must be 100% in line with NOT talking about jews and fearing t.h.e.m (t=the h=hebrews e=enslaving m=mankind) in order for t.h.e.m. TO rule. As Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn said “for the jew nothing is more insulting than the truth.” Jews fear the truth more than we have been indoctrinated to fear talking about t.h.e.m. Iceland also has the climate where t.h.e.y. (t=the h=hebrews e=enslaving y=you) won’t live because there is far less ability to parasitize the population.

  2. Iceland seems to have their shit together, more than most. Aren’t they the ones that started putting bankers behind bars? They’re starting to look mighty good right now!

  3. Yes, Emanuel Nachson, this boycott is all about hate: specifically, the murderous hate Israeli and Zionist scum show toward the Palestinians and anyone else who opposes Israeli lebensraum and Jewish supremacism.

Hats off to Iceland for having the guts to stand up against the Israeli murderers and hypocrites.
