Wow Mary, this is jaw-dropping. I had no idea how so sophisticated a system was put in place, and since the 50’s!! Left me wondering what things would be like if the whole world wasn’t connected like this, if the old ways of mail and ship gave the people of the globe more of a chance at minding our own business and tending to our own needs.
