On Tuesday March 4, 2014, at 3:47 p.m., North Precinct and Transit Police Division (TPD) officers responded to Northeast 82nd Avenue and Sandy Boulevard on the report of an armed man on a TriMet bus.
As officers were en route to the scene, additional information was received that the suspect claimed to have a “loaded and cocked” handgun.
Multiple officers arrived at the scene and contacted the suspect, identified as 41-year-old Patrick O’Brien Nolin. Nolin was taken into custody without incident. No gun was located on him or his property.
Officers learned that the bus operator heard Nolin speaking, possibly to another passenger, about having a loaded gun on the bus, which placed the driver in fear.
Nolin was booked into the Multnomah County Jail on a charge of Interfering with Public Transportation.
Sounds like this Nolin guy is a real nut case talking loud enough for the bus driver to hear or the bus driver has something against this Nolin guy.
Nolin – seems to me – would have to be talking rather loud for the bus driver to hear talk like that.
meth?
What I was thinking.
