EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa. (AP) – Authorities say a man armed with two handguns and a machete has been shot and killed by police inside a northeastern Pennsylvania Wal-Mart store.
The Pocono Record reports that witnesses told police that a man entered the store shortly after 10 p.m. Saturday and began threatening customers. Officials say there were about 100 customers in the store at the time.
Authorities say police arrived at the scene, evacuated the store and then ordered the man to drop his weapons. When he refused, police fired at the man, striking him in the chest. The man was transported to Pocono Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead by the Monroe County coroner.
“They were calling names, like they were looking to find their families,” James Felz, who was shopping with his family, told the newspaper.
“He was walking away from us down the aisle holding the gun to his head. He threw a backpack he was carrying to the side. Then he got to the end of the aisle, he turned right and pointed the gun, like around the corner. I heard a click, like a misfire or a BB gun go off.”
State Police Lt. Robert Bartel said early Sunday the name of the shooter would not be released until his family was notified.
Police said no customers or officers were injured.

WHO was calling names? I’m assuming police because “they” refers to more than one person, and there was apparently only one gunman, but why then does he follow with this sentence; “He was walking away from us down the aisle holding the gun to his head”, also without identifying who he’s talking about?
if only this moronic, and literacy-challenged “journalist” from “Philly.com” knew how to convey an idea in English, I’d know what the hell happened, but apparently the wetbacks are taking the journalism jobs too.

my aunt lives in east stroudsburg about 5 mins from this walmart..visit there all the time.. that walmart is like open 24hrs I think and there’s always people in there even at past midnight. so yea I could see 100 people being in there at 10pm, holiday shopping.. and its a super walmart the size of 3 football fields, big place.
