Guns Save Lives – by Dan Cannon
Well, not gonna lie, this one makes me sad to write up. Also, this news is a little older, but it never really got much attention in the gun community from what I can tell.
Norman Reedus, who is best known for the roles of Murphy McManus in Boondock Saints series and currently Daryl Dixon on the Walking Dead, showed both his ignorance on guns as well as his anti-gun leanings during a 2013 interview.
According to Hollywood.com
Reedus goes on to insist American politicians need to tighten the country’s gun laws to prevent another massacre like that at Sandy Hook Elementary School, where gunman Adam Lanza shot dead 20 children and six adults.
And according to The Daily Telegraph Australia,
“I don’t feel there’s a real reason to have automatic weapons at all. I can understand the right to bear arms to some extent, but no one needs an automatic AK17 (gun) hanging in their truck. No way.”
Sigh. First off, what the heck is an AK17? Maybe it was a typo by the person transcribing the quote, who knows. Second, is he talking about actual NFA licensed full autos or semi-autos? I guess either way it shows his ignorance and anti-gun leaning ideas.
Interestingly, here is a video of Reedus shooting a full auto M4 rifle posted just a few months after he made these comments.

Based on those videos and his statement, “I can understand the right to bear arms to some extent,” it seems that he does support gun ownership to some extent, but it also sounds like he wants to see more gun control laws put in place, something I just can’t agree with.

We need automatic weapons to immediately kill anyone who has such treasonous thoughts before the infection spreads. It’s worse than Ebola!

So sad. And I liked this guy as an actor in the Walking Dead. I guess that’s why he always uses a crossbow on the show instead of a gun.

As much as I have found him to be a gifted actor; he is a brainless meat puppet in the real world. When and if I want his opinion on anything, I will give it to him on a Que-card.
