Two people died Wednesday in an apparent murder-suicide that had a Texas community college on lock down for about two hours, police said.
“We have what appears to be one victim deceased & the shooter has committed suicide,” the Irving Police Department tweeted. It did not appear anyone else was hurt in the shooting at North Lake College, Irving police spokesman James McLellan said.
Police said there did not appear to be a “continuing threat” at the college, a two-year school about 10 miles west of Dallas.
There appears to be no continuing threat but police will continue to search to make the campus safe.

Nasrin Nanbakhsh, a math tutor at the school, told reporters she saw a man shoot a woman in a hallway.
“I saw a guy standing and there was a girl sitting on a a chair. I saw him shooting her three times,” Nanbakhsh said. “I immediately ran back to the room I’m working, locked the doors and asked all the students to go back to the back room and to turn off the lights and be quiet.”
“I just saw the gun, as soon as I looked at it. I saw the gun, and he shot her three times, and it was too close,” Nanbakhsh said.
Officials have not formally identified the shooter or the victim.
The campus will be closed for the rest of the day, and classes will not resume until Friday. “All students, staff, visitors outside the campus must leave the perimeter,” the college tweeted.
An active shooter was first reported on the campus, part of the Dallas County Community College District, around 11:45 a.m. local time. About an hour later, authorities confirmed the bodies of two people had been found there.
“I saw the gun, and he shot her three times, and it was too close,”
I’m guessing it was personal.
“An active shooter was first reported on the campus,…”
Would it have been reported if he had been inactive?
