Occupy DC: remembering the US Veterans’ “Bonus Army” protest

I didn’t have a lot of time to research. But I did find this. I believe this video is cut from a PBS documentary. It does put all three there. MacArthur, Eisenhower, and Patton.

Many people are unaware that the great generals of WW2 MacArthur, Eisenhower and Patton were active during this historic protest.

This was a major protest for US Veterans who were promised bnouses by the US Government for service during WW1.

  1. “God Bless America”

    While the storm clouds gather
    Far across the sea
    Let us swear allegiance
    To a land that’s free
    Let us all be grateful
    For a land so fair
    Let us raise our voices
    In a solemn prayer

    God bless America,
    Land that I love.
Stand beside her, and guide her,
Through the night with the light from above.

From the mountains, to the prairies,
To the oceans, white with foam,
    God bless America,
    My home sweet home.
    God bless America,
    My home sweet home.

From the mountains, to the prairies,
To the oceans, white with foam,
    God bless America,
    My home sweet home.

    God bless America,
    My home sweet home

  2. What happened with the Bonus Army should teach every American two crucial points:

    1. “Our” troops WILL turn their weapons on us when ordered by their masters. They’ll even do this against their veteran “brothers.”

The US military has been used against Americans many times in our history. In contrast, I’m not aware of a single incident in which a significant number of US troops has refused orders to move against Americans. They sure as hell have never taken up arms to defend the Bill of Rights or our freedoms (barring the occasional individual exception).

    2. Those in the US ruling class do not give a hoot about the troops who serve them; they see them as suckers and slaves to be discarded after they’re used, All the flattery directed toward “our men and women who wear the uniform” is just talk. Talk is a cheap way to maintain loyalty and attract new recruits. But actions speak louder than words, don’t they?

  3. In 1932 protests were met with bayonets, sabers and tanks. Lesson for 2017 and beyond. Don’t bother with protest. They don’t care what you think. They hate you for your desire for GOD given liberty, and they will kill you for your thought crimes. You go to something like this you better go to remove the government along with ALL the soldiers who protect and support it, and then you can reboot the 1789 constitution. Short of all out civil war their is NO redress of grievances. NONE!!!

The reset button the patriots of 1775-1783 left us is the rifle trigger. NEVER FORGET THAT.
