The U.S. Justice Department scolded the Ferguson, Missouri, police chief Friday for letting law enforcement officers obscure their names on their badges and wear bracelets honoring Darren Wilson, the Ferguson cop who shot and killed teenager Michael Brown.

In a letter to Chief Thomas Jackson, the Justice Department said residents had provided photos of law enforcement officers “wearing ‘I am Darren Wilson’ bracelets while in uniform and on duty,” a reference to the Ferguson officer who is under grand jury investigation in the Aug. 9 killing of Brown that set off several days of violent clashes. It said residents had also complained that some officers were wearing black tape over their name plates, apparently to protect their own identities — which the Justice Department said violated the police department’s own policies.   Continue reading “Feds Tells Ferguson Police to Ban ‘I Am Darren Wilson’ Bracelets”

So I guess the new Communist trend word in the mainstream media for the week is “BEHEADING”. Quick! Look for any excuse to claim someone is going to behead another so we can sell the ISIS propaganda.

With news of certain restaurants not allowing customers to bring their guns into restaurants (*cough, cough Panera*), it is always a pleasant surprise when businesses do just the opposite. As of a couple of weeks ago, Bergeron’s Restaurant in Port Allen, Louisiana is now offering a 10% discount to customers who carry a gun. Owner Kevin Cox said he began the discount by thanking law enforcement for coming into the restaurant and then he had the idea.   Continue reading “Local Louisiana Restaurant Offers Discount for Carrying a Gun”

Earlier today we reported that a Las Vegas woman shot a man who had been stalking her once in the chest as he tried to break into her apartment.

Famed chef Emeril Lagasse says that it’s becoming all but impossible to be a successful restaurateur in America today. The government just gets in the way too much. Lagasse specifically singled out the current president’s policies.

“It’s becoming a very challenging industry to become a very successful average restaurateur,” continued Lagasse. “I can’t charge $300 a person in my restaurant or I would not be in business. Am I using any different ingredients? Not really. Am I using any caliber of service staff? I don’t think so. I think our service is as good or better than most places.” Continue reading “Famed Chef Emeril Lagasse Says Obama May Drive Him Broke”

The U.S. government may have to pay big bucks to settle an unbelievable case involving an anchor baby—traveling from Guatemala with her illegal immigrant grandfather—who wasn’t allowed into the country to be reunited with her illegal alien parents.

It sounds like a bad joke, but it’s a real-life case pending in federal court and a George W. Bush-appointed judge appears to sympathize with the illegal immigrants. In a ruling issued this month, Judge Kiyo Matsumoto in the Eastern District of New York refused to dismiss the case against the government and accused U.S. Homeland Security agents of “negligence and laziness” for essentially doing their job.      Continue reading “Illegal Aliens Sue U.S. for Returning Child to Guatemala”

Barely a year removed from the devastation of the 2008 financial crisis, the president of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York faced a crossroads. Congress had set its sights on reform. The biggest banks in the nation had shown that their failure could threaten the entire financial system. Lawmakers wanted new safeguards.

The Federal Reserve, and, by dint of its location off Wall Street, the New York Fed, was the logical choice to head the effort. Except it had failed miserably in catching the meltdown.   Continue reading “Inside the New York Fed: Secret Recordings and a Culture Clash”

Berlin (AFP) – Russia warned Europe on Friday that it may cut off gas supplies because some countries have been re-exporting supplies to Ukraine to help Kiev through its latest energy war with Moscow.

The blunt threat came as energy chiefs gathered in Berlin for EU-mediated talks aimed at halting a Russian gas supply freeze to Ukraine that could leave parts of the war-scarred nation without heat this winter.   Continue reading “Russia warns Europe of gas cuts over Ukraine”
