Poll: Three out of five Texans support secession if Hillary becomes president

If anyone needs proof that the presidential race between Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton truly is dividing the country, they should look to Texas.

According to poll results from Public Policy Polling released Tuesday, three out of five Texans who support Donald Trump said they would support seceding from America if Hillary Clinton becomes president.

The left-leaning polling firm learned Donald Trump leads 50 percent to Hillary Clinton’s 44 percent after polling Texans. According to the polling results from PPP, only one out of four Texans support seceding from America generally. But when faced with the possibility of a President Hillary Clinton, a majority of Texans said they’d rather leave.

PPP is known for asking offbeat and sometimes humorous questions. In December, the firm discovered 30 percent – about one out of three – Republican primary voters supported bombing Agrabah, the fictional Arabian city from Aladdin. The survey didn’t ask if people knew Agrabah doesn’t actually exist.

PPP found Texans overall have an unfavorable opinion of both candidates (59 percent for Clinton and 53 percent for Trump).

When asked if fictional independents Deez Nuts and Harambe (a gorilla at the Cincinnati Zoo who was put down after grabbing a child), Trump came out on top at 47 percent. Clinton got 38 percent while Deez Nuts got 3 percent and Harambe got 2 percent.

As for President Barack Obama, 54 percent of Texans polled said they disapprove of his job performance. In 2012, 51 percent of the Texans polled said they voted for Mitt Romney, compared to the 38 percent who voted for Obama (11 percent said they don’t remember who they voted for).

Other interesting results from the survey include 30 percent of Texans identifying as moderate, compared to 13 percent identifying as somewhat liberal and 29 percent as somewhat conservative. A small number said they were very liberal (9 percent) or very conservative (19 percent).

While most Texans identify as Republican (41 percent), 24 percent say they are independent while the remaining 35 percent identify as Democrat.

  1. Texans are a bunch of whiny bitches if the poll is correct, it was all ok when THEIR jewish overlords and masons ruled them but when it is someone ELSES jewish overlords… Ohhh cant have that, it was all ok when they got to pretend to be the “big dog.” Bunch of bastards.

    2. Don’t speak for me. I’m no whiny bastard or bitch. And I don’t

give a shit about your perspective on anything. Go away.

      1. I was born in the commie whore state of Florida and raised in the commie infested whore state of Oregon. It is misplaced allegiance to symbols and thus the governments they represent that has brought us to ruin. None of us can be proud until we grow spines, throw off this tyranny, and create something to be proud of again.

  2. I’m from Texas (originally from NY) and I agree with the commenters. Everyone in this state talks big but never does shit. They’re nothing but a bunch of chickenshits. I gave up on their “Texan” spirit when they didn’t do shit with getting rid of the TSA even under threat from the Feds or with the illegal immigrant situation.

“Don’t mess with Texas” has become a pathetic cry. And how they love and worship the Bushs or any candidate from Texas, regardless of how bad they are, truly astounds me.

“Well if they’re from Texas, they’re for Texans, so we gotta support them.”

    1. NC, a few months ago I heard the “Don’t mess with TX” on a don’t litter TX highways.(This was a radio ad)

So this saying is regarding littering. I laughed.

  3. My impression of Texas has long been that it’s full of patriotards who worship big government and “authority” in general. Natural-born slaves. I’d be a lot more impressed if a majority wanted to secede regardless of whether Hillary or Trump was elected.

No offense to anyone here who is from Texas but is an exception to the above. And I realize that most other states are also screwed up in their own way.

    1. The biggest shame on Texas is that they fought for the Confederacy (despite the masonic influence there) so they could REMOVE big government, now they cant get enough of it. A complete one-eighty, they should die of shame.

    1. citizenjane,
No one attacked you, but you think you can come back and attack our people for daring to criticize Texas. You thought wrong. You will not come on here and attack anyone. You did not address the content of the article.
How about do me a favor and just go away.

  4. I’d like to quote Dr. Martin Luther Rodney King.
“Can’t we all just get along”….?
    Fk no…!
    Remember. … there’s no azz.
    In Textazz.
    Relax pee pole… it’s only a movie.

  5. I’m sorry… I gotta get one more ding on this one.
This reminds me of that seen in fight club.
