Authorities in Iowa have identified the suspected gunman in the ambush-style attacks early Wednesday morning that claimed the lives of two police officers who were sitting in their patrol cars.
Scott Michael Greene, 46, is considered armed and dangerous, The Des Moines Register reported. He believed to be driving a blue 2011 Ford F-150 with an Iowa license plate 780 YFR.
State officials are conducting a massive manhunt. The shootings occured 20 mintues apart near Des Moines.
The victims included one Des Moines police officer and another from the suburb of Urbandale were found in their bullet-riddled cruisers, Des Moines police Sgt. Paul Parizek said.
“There’s somebody out there shooting police. There is a clear and present danger to police officers right now,” he said.

Police are working to determine if there is one gunman. One person who was identified as a witness described a pickup truck with a topper.

“In all appearances it looks just like that, that these officers were ambushed,” Parizek said. “It doesn’t look like there was any interaction between these cowards and the officers they shot in their cars.”
Urbandale Sgt. Chad Underwood said Urbandale officers are equipped with body cameras, but they don’t run constantly and it’s unclear whether there was video of the shootings.
Neither cop was identified by officials, and as of a 5 a.m. news conference, police were still notifying family members. Parizek said their names and details about their service would be released later Wednesday.
The shootings appear to be the latest cases of police officers being targeted for assassination in a year that has seen 111 police officers killed in the line of duty, including 50 by gunfire, according to the Officer Down Memorial Page.
In the most deadly attack on police, five Dallas officers were gunned down by a sniper in July as they patrolled a demonstration against police brutality. Several other high-profile cases of targeting of cops have taken place, including the murder of two Palm Springs, Calif., police officers last month.
Some of the shootings have been connected to anti-police sentiment sparked by racially charged incidents involving alleged brutality or improiper use of deadly force around the country.
Des Moines police said in a news release earlier that officers responded to a report of shots fired at the intersection of 70th Street and Aurora Avenue at 1:06 a.m., and the first officers to arrive on scene found an Urbandale officer dying of gunshot wounds.
Des Moines police officers responded to assist and just 20 minutes later, a Des Moines officer was found fatally shot at an intersection about two blocks away.
The Des Moines Register reported that streets at both shooting scenes were closed amid the investigation. Schools in the area were also closing for Wednesday, officials said.
The Des Moines police officer is believed to be the first from the city to be shot and killed on duty since two officers were gunned down in separate incidents in 1977, according to the Register.
Two Des Moines police officers were killed earlier this year when their car was struck head-on by a wrong-way drunken driver, according to the paper.
The Urbandale police officer is believed to be that department’s first to be shot dead in the line of duty, Underwood said at the news conference.

Awesome!!!
Wanna act like an occupying army? Don’t be surprised if someone treats you like one.
Wanna trample the rights of citizens? Don’t be surprised if someone decides to relieve you of your rights.
Wanna support the Blue Wall of Silence, as all police do? Then maybe someone will decide to break that silence with gunshots.
*** “In all appearances it looks just like that, that these officers were ambushed,” Parizek said. “It doesn’t look like there was any interaction between these cowards and the officers they shot in their cars.” ***
Yeah, it’s really “cowardly” to ambush a cop. There’s no personal risk involved in that at all. It would have been much more courageous for someone who was pissed off at the police to do nothing whatsoever. LOL
Why, if the cop-killer hadn’t been so “cowardly,” he would have taken on the entire police force all by himself! Or he would have at least announced his intentions ahead of time so a TWAT team could have been waiting for him.
If you want to see courage, look no further than those noble officers who gang up on (generally unarmed) people to fight them, either on the street or during a planned raid, all while knowing that endless backup is just a radio call away. (/sarcasm)
Seriously, do these pigs hear what they’re saying? “Cowardly,” my ass. Whoever did this, like all pig-killers, obviously has massive brass balls.
So when a pig murderers a man from a distance he is a hero and when someone murderers a pig from a distance he is a coward? Have we had enough of supremicism yet?
Now we’re getting somewhere.

Thanks. If I see him, I’ll pretend I didn’t. If he’s hungry, I’ll buy him lunch.
What would be the result of say 1000, 10,000, 100,000, 1,000,000 patriots doing the same sort of public service against the gang that are police, or a martial law military, or invading army, or whatever? I realize that its hard to distinguish any of these scenarios these days, but just imagine. What would be the result?
We win. They loose. Unless they use WMDs on us. Even then I’d estimate their chances as small.
The nice thing about the government’s WMDs is that if they use them against the public, they’ll be using them against government employees and contractors as well. The US government is heavily dependent on the civilian economy and infrastructure to continue functioning.

OUTSTANDING!!!
No better way to start the day than reading about some scumbag ICM enforcers getting their just desserts.
