Sen. Rand Paul was “blindsided” and suffered a minor injury when he was allegedly tackled by a neighbor at his home in Bowling Green, Kentucky, police and a Paul spokesperson said Saturday.

Rene Boucher, 59, of Bowling Green, was charged with one count of fourth-degree assault in the incident, which occurred at about 3:20 p.m. local time Friday, Kentucky State Police said.

Senator Paul is fine.”

After Paul reported the assault, the Warren County Attorney’s Office issued an arrest warrant and a trooper arrested Boucher soon after, police said.

Boucher remained held Saturday in the Warren County Regional Jail.

A criminal complaint says that Paul “told police that his neighbor came onto his property and tackled him from behind, forcing him to the ground and causing pain.”

A neighbor told NBC affiliate WAVE of Louisville that the two men have had ongoing problems and Paul was mowing the lawn at the time of the assault. A state police spokesperson would not confirm those details Saturday.

Boucher admitted to tackling Paul, the criminal complaint says.

The Kentucky State Police confirmed that the FBI were involved in the investigation, but the ongoing probe will be led by the trooper who made the arrest.

    Fk it dude.
    Let’s go bowling.

  2. “tackled him from behind, forcing him to the ground and causing pain.”

Not ol’ rands first time for such an encounter, but he wasn’t pleased because the results differed from what he usually received.

  3. Yeah Traitor Paul and his daddy as well as their buddy AJ can all hang on their own lawns when and if we can ever get our sovereign america back….his neighbor can have a medal…but he’s probably some socialist democrat stuck in the left/right BS…you know the thing AJ used to claim he was fighting against….

  4. Just read he has broken ribs. Lol they will take awhile to heal and will make it easier to break again.

Cheers to Rene Boucher, 59, of Bowling Green. You are my hero of the day.
