Gee…I wish I can be allowed to say, ‘Merry Christmas’ at my job in Texas. I can’t believe they had to pass a law in order to allow them to celebrate it without fear of persecution or censorship. What is this world coming to….
State Representatives from Texas are making it known that students, parents, teachers, and staff are allowed to celebrate Christmas and Hanukkah in public schools.
Dwayne Bohac (R-Houston) and Richard Raymond (D-Laredo) passed the Merry Christmas Law last year so that students and teachers could openly celebrate the holiday season without fear of persecution or censorship.
Thanks to the bill students are now allowed to say “Merry Christmas” or “Happy Hanukkah,” and religious scenes may be displayed freely in Texas schools, according to ABC13.
The bill passed unanimously.
During a press conference this week at the Texas Capitol, Bohac reportedly said, “With Christmas around the corner, our goal is to educate the public on this state law so that our teachers and students are able to celebrate the upcoming holiday season without fear of retribution or punishment.”
Bohac did not immediately return calls from Breitbart Texas.
