It is official: The Tea Party is dead. Writing for National Review, Brian Riedl rightly sums it up:
President Trump and congressional leaders are nearing a deal that would raise the discretionary-spending caps by $320 billion over two years and offset less than one-quarter of those costs (and even those offsets would take a decade to materialize). The budget deal would essentially repeal the final two years of the 2011 Budget Control Act and raise the baseline for future discretionary spending by nearly $2 trillion over the decade.
This represents a fitting conclusion of the Budget Control Act — the crown jewel of the 2011 “tea-party Congress.” The decade-long shredding of these hard-fought budget constraints mirrors the shredding of Republican credibility on fiscal responsibility.
The election of President Trump . . . may have finally killed the tea party as a whole. Trump, who called himself the “king of debt,” deemphasized spending restraint and even promised that Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid, the overwhelming drivers of long-term deficits, would be off limits to reform. His surprising election marked a replacement of the GOP’s free-market conservatism.
By early 2018, surrendering Republicans raised the 2018 and 2019 spending caps by a staggering $296 billion, this time with less than $50 billion in offsets over ten years. An effort by conservative House Republicans in 2017 and again in 2018 to trim the growth rate of entitlement spending from 5.9 percent to 5.8 percent per year was rejected by Republican senators for being too radical. Even a rescission bill that would reduce unnecessary spending by a mere $1 billion over ten years — or 0.002 percent of the budget — was defeated in the Republican Senate. Instead, lawmakers renewed billions in new farm subsidies for wealthy farmers and considered bringing back pork-barrel earmarks. Legislation to repeal and replace ObamaCare was defeated in the Republican Senate.

“The Tea Party Is Dead And So Are The Patriot Movement And The Evangelical Church”
NOPE. “JUDEOKRISCHUNS” STILL ROAM AMERICAN STREETS………..DUMBASS…………LIAR!!
JEW WORSHIPPERS ALL!! MARKED BY THE BEAST, CONDEMNED BY THE LORD GOD. JESUS STOOD UP FOR FREEDOM. GET YOUR “RELIGION” STRAIGHT, GOOFBALL…..
The “Tea Party” seems to be dead anyway if one bought into their shtick in the first place (I never did…Zioshills and all). If by “the Evangelical Church” you mean Christian Zionism then it DESERVES to be DEAD (as does all phony “Christian” churchianity). But the true patriot movement consisting of individuals standing for the Bill of Rights will never die, Christian or non-Christian.
You sound like you have given up, Mr. Baldwin. You need to rethink your position and stop buying into a false narrative.
It would be great if you and koyote posted your comments at his sight.

NO PLACE TO “COMMENT” THAT I SAW……….BESIDES, “PASTORS” ARE LISTED IN THE GROUP OF “SPIRITUAL GIFTS” THEY ARE NOT AN OFFICE OF THE LORDS CHURCH. IF IT WERE, THEN WHERE ARE THE “RULES” FOR SUCH AN OFFICE? IF THE SPIRITUAL GIFTS WERE STILL IN EFFECT, WHY CAN I NOT RAISE THE DEAD, OR SPEAK DIFFERENT LANGUAGES (TONGUES)?
1Co 13:9 For we know in part, and we prophesy in part.
1Co 13:10 But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away.
Ephesians 4:11 makes no reference to “spiritual gifts”. These are ministries given by God to people, not self appointed.
I Corinthians mentions “spiritual gifts”. Gifts is italicized in KJ because it does not appear in original text. The greek is pneumatikos meaning spiritual used to refer to spiritual things or spiritual matters, that is, matters relating to the spirit. I Corinthians 8 begins a discussion concerning spiritual matters and the practical application of those spiritual matters in the assembled church.
Reading I Cor. 7:1 as “spiritual matters” NOT gifts, is the key that will unfold the truth of the scriptures regarding speaking in tongues. Right off, God, by way of Paul says, “I would not have you ignorant”.
Verse 7 same chapter “But the manifestation of the spirit is given to every man to profit withal.” Verse 8 “For to one….. ” The word one refers to the word profit in verse 7, NOT to one person etc.. Again verse 7 said “the manifestation of the spirit is GIVEN TO EVERY MAN to PROFIT withal.”
You can speak in tongues as it’s a manifestation of the gift of holy spirit. The spirit is the gift, and the speaking in tongues is the manifestation of that gift.
I see that the article can be rated, but no place to comment.
WHERE ARE THE RULES FOR THE OFFICE OF “PASTOR”? ELDERS AND DEACONS HAVE RULES………
REGARDLESS, I WOULD DIE FOR YOUR BELIEF. I WANT YOU TO UNDERSTAND THAT.
GOD NEVER UNTENDED FOR A WHOLE CONGREGATION TO BE LEAD BY ONE MAN. AND NEVER GAVE AUTHORITY TO “A GROUP OF PASTORS” TO LEAD THE CHURCH, OUTSIDE OF THE ELDERSHIP
A MAN CAN “CLAIM” TO BE ANYTHING….
First off, you said that pastors were listed in the group of spiritual gifts which is not true. Secondly, you completely discounted not what I said, but what the scriptures say. I could give a rats arse if you agree with what I said, but hell, the scriptures that you claim to be a preacher of said it. Thirdly, you say pastors are not an “office of the Lord’s church” because there are no “rules.” Clearly, the scripture says these God given ministries were given for the perfecting ( katartismos)- complete furnishing, complete equipping) of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ. The body of Christ is the Lord’s church. Fourthly, you totally disregarded what the scriptures say about speaking in tongues, again, not what I said, but what that bible you preach says. I’ll answer your question as to why you don’t speak different languages(tongues). Because you choose to be ignorant. It’s not because spiritual matters, yet you will continue to say gifts, are no longer in effect. As to why you don’t raise the dead, you’ll have to figure that one out on your own. By the way, raising the dead ain’t a gift. It would certainly fall into the category of a miracle, no doubt, which is one out of the 9 manifestations of holy spirit. As to “where are the rules for the office of “pastor,” you’ll have to ask the Creator that one.
Easing the obvious disregard of what the scriptures say, by saying “regardless, I would die for your belief, I want you to understand that” is nothing but a platitude. Again, I give no rats arse if you agree with what I say, but when the scriptures are plainly laid forth and totally disregarded, then I’ve got a problem.
Christianity is all ****** up because we won’t read whats written and accept it as written. It says what it means and means what it says. Everybody’s got a spin on everything. The Bill of Rights says what it means and means what it says. But nooooo, that 2nd Article is just for hunting, right!?
BY THE WAY
IT TAKES ONLY ONE QUESTION TO DEFINE A CHRISTIAN
“WHAT IS THE GOSPEL?”
BTW, I AM NOT “CATHOLIC”. WE ARE HERE. THE LORDS SUPPER IS HERE. WE DO EXIST
I just took a patriot movement. Right into the tea party bowl.
I pat you on the head as i explain.
Those movements are irrelevant. There is millions of armed individuals in this country who despise the state. Maybe you could spend some time looking at the secession uptick and stop wasting your time talking in circles.
Ps
Shove a.big F in your statist mouth.
