Labor Day was a day created as a “peace offering” to keep people from rioting.

    1. Thanks for this article, Mary. I know with labor we have a double-edged sword, with communists over here and exploiters over there, so sometimes the strikes are hard to break down. I read that the workers then had 12 hour days, very low wages, and guess what? No weekends? They had to fight for all that and for safer conditions since they usually were placed in dangerously precarious situations. And of course, there was child-labor, too.

      “And it was widely believed that company spies kept a watchful eye on the workers during their hours off the job.”

      How fascist is that?!!! And this took place just over 100 years after The Bill of Rights became official.

      How good it will be when Big Brother is off our backs.
