The mainstream propaganda machine continues its blackout in reference to the 99er issue. I believe there are 99ers out there who are taking actions that are deliberately being excluded from the mainstream news. This being the case we must push from the bottom up. If you have been following the comment board you will know that an opportunity has arisen to get news coverage through mlive.com/jobs.
What needs to happen is for a group of 99ers in Michigan to get together, start building a cross and a platform, and have their most eloquent speaker step up to do an interview. Relief for the 99ers is not going to come simply by us wishing for it. We are going to have to step forward and demand it.
I believe the Easter Project can have a positive effect as it will show that we are capable of uniting across this country for a single event. Remember, the people we want to target are those in our House of Representatives, Senate, and mainstream news media who are standing in our way. These people profess their Christianity as a part of their attempt to win our votes.
99ers need to call them to the mat for the hypocrites they are proving to be. Our number one person of interest should be Ohio’s Republican Senator and Speaker of the House, John Boehner. There has to be 99ers in Ohio who know where Boehner will be attending Easter service. And if he is going to be in Washington DC, again there must be 99ers there who can find out when and where.
We have to get the Easter Project on track for becoming reality if we want to get it in the news. Once you start your project in your own area give at least weekly reports to From the Trenches in reference to your progress and status. If your efforts get local news coverage, send the articles to From the Trenches and we will attempt to get them on every 99er site possible.
The Easter Project is a radical idea, but if at this point you have not realized that radical is what it is going to take, you really need to step back and look at the situation anew.
Our Congress will be voting on two versions of spending cuts, neither of which is going to pass. And they know they are not going to pass. The 112th Congress has been in and out of session for a little over two months now. And they have not even addressed one piece of legislation that will create one job, let alone the issue of the 25 million unemployed in this country.
Wisconsin’s governor, Scott Walker, and company, claiming a mandate from the people, pushed the provisions through to take collective bargaining power from the teachers and is now facing not only critizism from the majority of Wisconsin voters but a possible recall of himself and those who stand with him.
John Boehner and company have been pushing their national socialist agenda under the same guise in claiming they have a mandate from a majority of U.S. voters to take more from the poor to give to the rich. This is a lie and the majority of Americans know it.
If we can achieve the Easter Project we can gain the support and the voices of those non 99ers across this country who are appalled at what is happening to us and the actions John Boehner and company are taking in their names.
This will work if we do it. If we do not all we have to look forward to is another summer of suffering. Now is the time for we the 99ers to take it to the streets. If we want it we must take it.

Per CNN this morning the DOW was down 100 points this morning in part because the unemployment rate for February was much higher than the expectations of our political leaders. Duh! Like we didn’t know that. Actually they knew it too, they just hoped it would not make it into the news or that their propaganda would override what we have known for a long time – the unemployment rate is going to rise and rise faster than even we already knew. Never in my life, have I seen such insanity and inhumane behavior on the part of our leaders. Our country is a mess in every area. I think there is so much negativity and corruption amongst our congress that they will eventually just spontaneously combust.
I recently got a job (went to a temp agency and am doing temp to hire) however, I still check my emails from Career Builder, Snagajob, Monster, Job Detective. Today I got a reply to a job I applied for (most don’t even reply) they thanked me for my application and said they would not be pursuing me further for the opening. I could have done that job standing on my head. There is no reason for them to reject me, but we all know why, right? I should have at least been given an interview. Yes, I am overqualified, but it’s not for them to decide I wouldn’t do the job. Regardless of whether I have a job or not, I am going to go the place that had the job opening and ask me to give a reason why I didn’t get an interview. I have called Obama twice regarding the discrimination. Something has to be put in place (like the old Affirmative Action) that prevents employers from discrimination against the 99ers. I was a recruiter for a bank and I know the legal procedure. This is totally unacceptable or just plain crap!!!
Job or no, I am still in support of 99ers and will never forget these politicians. God help us, we need to get rid of all of them. I understand the Governor from Wisconsin can’t be recalled until he has been given the opportunity to be in office for 1 year. Interesting. I also understand that if they are in office for 1 year they will get all the benefits every political figure gets. What a sham!
As Micheal Moore said… Their are more of us than them. I dont think that if Walker is recalled that he should stay in office for the remainder of the year. We gave them this lavish life style and WE CAN TAKE IT BACK! We the 99ers have been reduced to poverty and if your single with children and no spouse than how do you even begin to look for work? No gas or car. Wouldnt be able to afford a bus ticket. This government is turning its back on our Military men and women. They have proven they will stop at nothing!
Laura I am so glad that you addressed the discrimination issue. I face it every time i apply for jobs. You said it very well and I am so happy to read these blogs. Thank You for bringing this issue to the forefront. I never have understood how one group can hurt their countrymen to the point of destroying us. I will keep reading these blogs and lending my voice.
