Alberta Holocaust denier reportedly arrested in Germany

A Jasper, Alta., woman, infamous for denying the existence of the Holocaust, has been arrested in Germany, according to B’nai Brith Canada.

Monika Schaefer was arrested in Munich earlier this month, B’nai Brith Canada, said in a statement Thursday.

The Canadian-based Jewish rights advocacy group said it is awaiting further details on why Schaefer was arrested. It praised German authorities.

B’nai Brith officials said the group had filed complaints against Schaefer with German officials because of her “anti-Semitic incitement.”

“German officials should be commended for taking action against Holocaust denial,” said Michael Mostyn, chief executive officer of B’nai Brith Canada, in a statement.

“We will continue to work, even across borders, to ensure that racism and bigotry find no haven in Canada.”

CBC News has spoken with the Munich police but has been unable to corroborate reports of Schaefer’s arrest, or what charges may be involved.

Schaefer was reportedly arrested during a recess in the trial of Sylvia Stolz, a lawyer on trial for Holocaust denial, according to a post on the right wing German blog deutsches-Maedchen.com.

Holocaust denial is a criminal offence in Germany. Under Germany’s Incitement to Hatred laws, those found guilty of denying the Holocaust could face a maximum of five years in prison.

Schaefer gained notoriety in July 2016 after publishing a video on YouTube in which she described the Holocaust as the “biggest and most pernicious and persistent lie in all of history.”

Throughout the video, she expresses her firm belief that six million Jews did not die at the hands of Nazi Germany, and she refers to the Holocaust as “the six-million lie.”

Schaefer was the Green Party candidate in the Alberta riding of Yellowhead in the 2006, 2008 and 2011 federal elections, but was ousted from the party during the ensuing controversy over the video.

At least one hate speech complaint was filed against her with the Alberta and Canadian human rights commissions.

On her Facebook page, Schaefer, who was born in Canada of German heritage, describes herself as a self-employed violin instructor.

  1. Amazes me how a country that wanted to get the Jews out of their country and knows that the holocaust never happened is so adamant about prosecuting those who don’t believe in the holohoax.

    1. That book I sent you pretty much disproved every single lie the stinking jews ever spewed about the Holohoax, didn’t it, NC.

Should be required reading for every person on the planet.

      1. Yep. I bought a copy for myself and re-read again.

Can’t deny the facts and you absolutely can’t deny the math, as in the mathematical impossibility of it ever happening. The Jews must’ve had a baby literally every minute that entire following year in order to make up for all the people they supposedly said that died the year before in their supposed holocaust and even that still wouldn’t be enough to make up for their increase in population that following year because the statistics in the almanacs just don’t add up.

The whole event is one big false flag hoax!

        1. Just re-read it myself a few months ago.

Unfreakinbelievable how many of their bogus ‘claims’ can be so EASILY debunked… merely using mathematics, or the immutable laws of physics.

Sheeple are SO stupid these days.

  2. “B’nai Brith officials said the group had filed complaints against Schaefer with German officials because of her “anti-Semitic incitement.”

Scum, plague of the entire earth!!!!!

  3. it’s not so much that some deny it ….it is that others may begin to think and question the hoax as well

  4. The persecution of so-called ‘holocaust deniers’ is now beginning to resemble the insanity of the mediaeval witch hunts. All this in the so-called ‘free world’. It is enough to make one vomit!

  5. How can one deny something that DIDN’T happen?! Calling it “denial” implies that this pile of HS even occurred in the first place! The scientific impossibilities and economical and resource waste associated with such a ludicrous proposal only exposes the delusional self-important mindset that anyone would waste so much time and money on something that could be accomplished in a short time period like eisenhower did to the German people.
