Army COS Gen. Odierno doesn’t want our soldiers to be “over-armed”

Fellowship of the Minds – by Dr. Eowyn

This is what happens when an idiot in the White House appoints another idiot as head of the U.S. Army.

In the aftermath of Muhammad Youssef Abdulazeez’s murder of four Marines and a Navy petty officer at a Naval Reserve Center in Chattanooga, Tennessee, questions once again are raised about the policy, begun by then-President Bill Clinton, of disarming service members on military bases.

Gen. Ray Odierno and ObamaResponding to those questions, Chief of Staff of the U.S. Army Gen. Raymond Odierno told reporters that arming troops in those offices could cause more problems than it might solve.

Odierno said during a morning breakfast on Friday, July 17, 2015, a day after the Chattanooga attack, “I think we have to be careful about over-arming ourselves, and I’m not talking about where you end up attacking each other.” Instead, he said, it’s more about “accidental discharges and everything else that goes along with having weapons that are loaded that causes injuries.

Duh.

According to Odierno’s reasoning, the Secret Service should be disarmed as well because they carry guns, which means there could be “accidental discharges” that “cause injuries.”

For that matter, I propose that Gen. Odierno should set the example by disarming himself — all in the interest of preventing “accidental discharges” of his firearms.

How about it, Gen. Odierno?

Note: Odierno is an Obama appointee who became Army Chief of Staff on September 7, 2011.

UPDATE:

Yesterday (Saturday, July 18), the governors of six states — Florida, Louisiana, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Texas and Indiana — ordered National Guard members at offices and other facilities to be armed in the wake of the Chattanooga attacks. Unlike Gen. Odierno, those governors are not Obama boot-lickers.

Well done, Governors Rick Scott (R), Bobby Jindal (R), Asa Hutchinson (R), Mary Fallin (R), Greg Abbott (R), and Mike Pence (R)!

  1. “Yesterday (Saturday, July 18), the governors of six states….ordered National Guard members at offices and other facilities to be armed in the wake of the Chattanooga attacks…..Well done, Governors….”

We’ve spent months listening to endless Jade Helm fear mongering promising that every military vehicle in America existed to impose martial law. On the day Jade Helm begins, six states arm up their National Guard troops, but now it’s a good thing because the TV said so. (or fooled you into believing it was a good thing, rather)

State governments are just as corrupt and complicit in our downfall as the Federal government, and the arming up of National Guard troops in response to what the governors likely know was another false-flag event is one of the things you should be worried about; not cheering for.

You’re still swallowing the lies when you ought to know better, and you’re still hoping someone will come to your rescue, when it’s not going to happen.

  2. The controllers like to keep American troops disarmed because they don’t trust American soldiers. Simple as that. It’s better for them to use American troops as targets for their schemes than protect them with weaponry which, by the way, they should have been extensively trained with to avoid “accidental discharges and other blah, blah, blah”.
Congrats and job well done to those governors who take this threat to the troops seriously!

  3. Your right JR. Besides we were never allowed to carry firearms even back in 1972 when I first went in. They had to be locked up in the armory if you lived in the barracks, but base housing you could keep them in your house. I did hear about them having to lock them up in the armory even in base housing sometime in the 90’s. But I would be Leary about this new carry while on duty because of the reason.
