A sinkhole that opened up on the street of the Chicago neighborhood of South Deering swallowed three cars and injured one person on Thursday morning.

The Chicago Fire Department said that one person, who was not identified, was rescued from the sinkhole at approximately 5:30 a.m. and taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital. The U.S. House of Representatives moved closer Wednesday toward the passage of the Cyber Intelligence Sharing and Protection Act (CISPA), despite concerns that the cyber threat information-sharing bill will allow Web-based companies to share a wide amount of customer information with government agencies.

The House on Wednesday debated several amendments to the bill, some of them minor changes related to what groups government agencies can share cyber threat information with. Washington (CNN) — In a critical indication of growing U.S. military involvement in the civil war in Syria, Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel has ordered the deployment of more American troops to Jordan.

WASHINGTON — A second letter allegedly intended for President Obama has tested positive for the deadly poison ricin, according to a new report.

A senior law enforcement told ABC’s Terry Moran that the suspicious letter sent to Obama tested positive for the ricin.

The Secret Service said a letter containing a suspicious substance was addressed to Obama but did not confirm it was ricin.
