SUNNYVALE, CALIF. — Enforcement issues surround two Northern California cities’ bans on high-capacity magazines.

The Oakland Tribune (http://tinyurl.com/lvtufr3 ) reported Saturday that since Sunnyvale’s ban went into effect midnight Thursday, not one of the now-illegal magazines has been turned in. San Francisco police report that they have no system to track whether any magazines have been turned in for destruction under the new ordinance. KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — A Tennessee liquor store owner says he’s fed up with Russia’s antics, so he’s banning Russian vodka from his shelves.

Bob Gilbertson, owner of Bob’s Liquors in Knoxville, says he’s not happy about Russia’s recent and aggressive involvement in Ukraine over Crimea.

PORTLAND, Ore. — A crazed cat is behind bars after it attacked a baby and held an Oregon family hostage in a bedroom, forcing them to call 911.

Sales of recreational marijuana products in Colorado added more than $2.1 million to state coffers in tax receipts and other fees in the first month retail sales of the drug were allowed, state figures showed on Monday.

It’s no secret that the U.S. government is in serious fiscal trouble. So much so that our Treasury Secretary recently noted that should the debt ceiling fail to be increased, the fall-out would be “catastrophic” and last for generations.

On Saturday, I informed you of a Connecticut police officer who said he wanted to bust through one patriot’s door and take his guns. This morning I spoke with John Cinque via telephone and he provided me with screenshots of the conversation that he mentioned in the video. Adam Lanza also killed his own mother and himself that December day in Newtown, Conn. His father, Peter, gave an extensive interview with The New Yorker magazine. Sacramento police officers on Saturday shot a knife-wielding man aboard a light rail train near 13th and R streets about 9:17 p.m.

Police said the man was taken to UC Davis Medical Center in Sacramento and was declared dead at the hospital.

A young graffiti artist shot by a Miami Beach police Taser stun gun died of heart failure from the “energy device discharge,” authorities said Thursday.

But the six-month-long medical examination concluded that the “sudden cardiac death” of Israel “Reefa” Hernandez-Llach, 18, was accidental.
