Jeffrey Epstein, the millionaire financier who is being held on federal sex trafficking charges, was found injured and in a fetal position in his cell at a New York City jail, sources close to the investigation told NBC News on Wednesday night.

Epstein, 66, was found semi-conscious with marks on his neck in his cell at the Metropolitan Correctional Center in Manhattan some time in the last two days, the sources said. SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — A Utah boy has earned widespread social media attention for his neighborhood soda stand thanks to a sign he holds that reads, “Ice Cold Beer” with “root” above the word beer in tiny print.

Several residents in the northern Utah city called police earlier this week concerned about a young boy selling alcohol in front of a church, said Brigham City Police Lt. Tony Ferderber on Thursday.

A U.S. Navy warship called the USS Boxer took down an Iranian drone in the Strait of Hormuz on Thursday, President Trump said, adding, “The drone was immediately destroyed.” A senior Iranian official has denied that the country lost a drone.

“The Boxer took defensive action against an Iranian drone,” Trump said, giving details about the encounter at the start of a flag presentation ceremony at the White House. John Paul Stevens, a moderate Republican and former antitrust lawyer from Chicago who evolved into a savvy and sometimes passionate leader of the Supreme Court’s liberal wing and became the third-longest-serving justice on the court before he retired in 2010, died July 16 at a hospital in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. He was 99.

The cause was complications from a stroke he suffered Monday, according to an announcement from the Supreme Court. The only justices who served longer were William O. Douglas, whom Justice Stevens replaced in 1975, and Stephen J. The remnants of what was once Hurricane Barry brought widespread flooding into southwestern Arkansas overnight Monday and early Tuesday.

Floodwaters rose over the hoods of cars in the parking lot of the Nashville, Arkansas, Police Department. A spokeswoman for the department told weather.com water was also getting into the building. LORETTO, Tenn. (WAFF/Gray News) – A drug bust announcement out of Lawrence County, Tennessee came with an atypical warning about the dangers of trying to flush away drug evidence.

The warning stemmed from a drug arrest in Loretto over the weekend. Police say when they went to serve the search warrant, the suspect, Andy Perry, unsuccessfully tried to flush methamphetamine and several items of paraphernalia. The U.S. Coast Guard released video Thursday of service members leaping onto a submarine carrying 17,000 pounds of cocaine as part of a monthslong, $569 million cocaine bust.

A member of the U.S. Coast Guard Cutter Munro can be seen in the video yelling at an unidentified aquatic vehicle to stop as it moved alongside the cutter at the surface of the Eastern Pacific Ocean.
