In a move that many are criticizing as tacky, liberal organizers of the Democratic National Convention have set up voter registration booths right on the site where Michael Brown was killed and where crowds have set up a makeshift memorial. While national news media continue to focus on race in Ferguson, Missouri, where a white police officer shot and killed an unarmed black teenager, they apparently don’t think a similar case in Utah with the races reversed is that newsworthy.
Police in Salt Lake City are continuing their probe into an Aug. 11 shooting outside a 7-Eleven convenience store, when a black police officer, whom local media are referring to as “not white,” shot and killed 20-year-old Dillon Taylor, who is white and was unarmed at the time, according to his supporters. Sunday in Tucson AZ, an illegal immigrant with no drivers license was pulled over for a routine traffic stop over an illegal right turn. However, that traffic stop led to police and Border Patrol officers being swarmed by a spontaneous protest.

The U.S. Navy has instructed housekeepers to remove Gideon-placed Bibles from every hotel room on its military bases after it received a letter from the atheist group Freedom From Religion Foundation (FFRF).
“We were told today, June 23, 2014, that due to a new policy by the CEO of NEXCOM, Rear Admiral Robert J. LAS VEGAS (AP) — Once-teeming Lake Mead marinas are idle as a 14-year drought steadily drops water levels to historic lows. Officials from nearby Las Vegas are pushing conservation, but are also drilling a new pipeline to keep drawing water from the lake.
Hundreds of miles away, farmers who receive water from the lake behind Hoover Dam are preparing for the worst.
The receding shoreline at one of the main reservoirs in the vast Colorado River water system is raising concerns about the future of a network serving a perennially parched region home to 40 million people and 4 million acres of farmland. SPEYER, Germany — Islam continues to grow in power and influence across Europe. But at a recent concert in Germany, one Christian woman decided to stand up to it.
“The Armed Man: A Mass for Peace” by Welsh composer Karl Jenkins was supposed to be an interfaith event to bring Christianity and Islam together.

PEARLAND, Texas —A pilot’s mistake caused more than 350 members of the Pearland High school marching band to be doused with pesticide.
According to the Pearland ISD, the band students were outside around 8 a.m. Thursday when the Brazoria County Mosquito Control District airplane flew over the school and sprayed the practice lot with pesticide.

Pinal County, AZ Sheriff Paul Babeu announced that over 120,000 illegal immigrants have been arrested in just the Tucson sector of the southern border. “We have [had] 123,000 illegals arrested right here in the Tucson sector” Babeu said on Wednesday’s “Sean Hannity Show.” He added that eight “cartel scouts” arrested in the last month. “close to 60,000, what’s predicted to be 90,000 by October 1 of unaccompanied juveniles” are expected cross the border in just the Del Rio Sector of Texas. Monrovia – Following the government of Liberia’s declaration of a national health emergency in the face of the deadly Ebola outbreak that has killed close to 130 Liberians and an entire government ministry at risk because of an employee that died of the deadly disease in Nigeria, there have been reports of dead bodies lying around with no effort by the ministry of health to remove them.
Over the lake that divides the police academy road from the rest of the SKD Boulevard community two objects in the shape of body bags white in color were afloat. Residents and motorists were concerned about the floating object, but all efforts made to contact the health ministry to confirm what the object actually is proved futile as no health response team showed up to remove the object that looked like the body bag in which Ebola victims are buried. Earlier this month, we ran a report on the CDC anthrax blunder. As if that weren’t bad enough, there have been additional exposures since we posted that report. This time, it involved the shipment of live, highly contagious, and deadly H5N1 avian influenza samples.
As previously reported, as many as 841 scientists and staff members at a US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) biolab were exposed to live anthrax in June. TUCSON (AP) — An unusual amount of rain that ravaged parts of southern Arizona also knocked down 60 feet of the rebar-reinforced steel fence that divides the U.S. and Mexico.
The storms began Friday in Sonora, Mexico, and resumed Saturday night until Sunday morning, when debris from the Mexican side of the border traveled through a wash and piled up against the border fence. The fence, just west of the Nogales-Mariposa Port of Entry near Interstate 19, stood between 18 and 26 feet high and extended at least 7 feet underground.
