Former Walt Disney Company executive Michael Laney has been sentenced to 81 months in prison for four counts of first-degree sexual abuse involving a 7-year-old girl.

A deputy in Georgia accidentally shot and killed a police dog Friday when the animal bit him from behind, not realizing the animal was a K-9, the Paulding County Sheriff’s office said.

Cpl. Brandon Kilgore was chasing a suspect in a domestic dispute when his dog, Verro, snuck out of a police car, got mixed up and started pursuing a deputy, grabbing his leg and biting him, the county sheriff’s office said in a Facebook post.

GARDEN CITY, Ga. (WTOC) – A Georgia woman is in custody after the owner of a McDonald’s in Garden City said she fired a gun inside the restaurant.

The restaurant owner says a woman left with her order and then came back saying the fries were cold. According to the owner, as the manager went to get new fries, the woman went into the kitchen and fired a shot into the floor.

One of Baltimore’s newest deputy police commissioners and his wife were robbed at gunpoint Friday night near Patterson Park, police said.

Deputy Commissioner Daniel Murphy and his wife were approached around 9 p.m. by four men in a large white SUV at the 2200 block of East Pratt Street, police said in a statement. Two approximately 18-year-old men got out of the SUV and approached the couple. The men announced it was a robbery and showed a gun before fleeing with a wallet, a purse, some cash and multiple cell phones, the press release said.

EWING — A police officer has been charged with murdering his three-month-old daughter, who died in December six days after she was admitted to the hospital with a fractured skull and ribs.

Daniel Bannister, 31, was suspended from the force in December, although authorities did not explain why until the murder charge was announced Wednesday. An on-duty New Jersey police officer who was behind the wheel of his patrol car when he was found overdosed on heroin in April has lost his job, authorities said Friday.

Matthew D. Ellery, 29, of Middlesex, was sworn in as a police officer with the Franklin Township Police Department in August 2016, according to Lt. Philip Rizzo, a department spokesman. Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot said Wednesday that her city has permanently banned U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement from accessing the Chicago Police Department’s databases ahead of looming ICE raids to detain undocumented immigrants.
