With one of the highest divorce rates in western Europe, Denmark would like breaking up to be a little harder to do – while making sure that when it does happen, the fallout is made less painful for everyone concerned.
Until recently Danes could divorce by filling out a simple online form. But under a package of legislation that came into force in April, couples determined to split must wait three months and undergo counselling before their marriage can be dissolved. “The secret to happiness is freedom… And the secret to freedom is courage.”
“The bravest are surely those who have the clearest vision of what is before them, glory and danger alike, and yet notwithstanding, go out to meet it.”
“Be convinced that to be happy means to be free and that to be free means to be brave. Therefore do not take lightly the perils of war.” Continue reading “Quotes from Thucydides, 460 bc – 400 bc”

July 18, 2019 (LifeSiteNews) — The American Library Association’s recent national conference provided librarians from across the country with strategies for advancing gender identity ideology in schools and finding ways to bring “Drag Queen Story Times” into public libraries despite the objections of local communities.
The conference was held just as disturbing stories came to light across the country about Drag Queen Story Times (DQST) held in public libraries. On the West Coast, young children were photographed having extreme physical contact with a drag queen, while on the East Coast, a drag queen who read to young children was discovered to be involved with numerous lurid and pornographic sexual businesses and activities. It all started in 2013 when the United Nations (U.N.) released a report on how insects could stabilize the global food supply. An estimated two billion people around the world eat bugs, so why not you, too? After all, growing the grain used in animal feed takes up huge water and energy resources.
The U.N. Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) fueled the campaign when it published Edible Insects: Future Prospects for Food and Feed Security. The 185-page report argues we should all be eating more insects as a means of feeding the estimated nine billion people who will live on Planet Earth in 2050. “Israel is actually more the victim than the party that’s responsible” for the Middle East conflict, said U.S. peace envoy Jason Greenblatt in an interview with PBS on Wednesday.
Greenblatt also rejected the term “occupied” to describe the West Bank and called the use of the word “settlements” “pejorative.” Continue reading “U.S. Envoy Greenblatt: Israel ‘Victim’ in Conflict, Rejects the Term ‘Settlements’”
Colorado State University claims that “American” is a non-inclusive word that should be avoided.
CSU’s online Inclusive Language Guide, compiled by the school’s Inclusive Communications Task Force, lists certain words and phrases to avoid while providing replacements in an effort to help “communicators practice inclusive language and [help] everyone on [its] campus feel welcomed, respected, and valued.” The school’s Women and Gender Collaborative website directly links to the document. San Diego, Calif. – As TFTP originally reported, two active duty U.S. Marines were charged with felony assault and battery charges stemming from an altercation with San Diego police officers and faced the possibility of being dishonorably discharged from the service, as well as up to three years in prison for the false charges filed against them. Luckily, however, unlike the police officers, the body camera footage didn’t lie, and now, one of these former Marines is getting civil justice.
