Does the United States military exist only to defend the borders of foreign countries in the Middle East or is it allowed to defend the borders of the U.S. against terrorist cartels, espionage, infiltrations, and smuggling?

It might sound like an uncanny question given that our military was likely created exclusively to defend our own borders, but, according to one Homeland Security official I spoke to, the White House is still convinced that our own military cannot be used for what one would think of as the quintessential purpose of its existence.  Continue reading “Military’s mission doesn’t include enforcement, so smugglers cross Rio Grande right in front of them”

It took last-minute changes and a lot of arm twisting by top Democratic leaders, but the House passed with relative ease Tuesday a $4.5 billion emergency border aid package to care for thousands of migrant families and unaccompanied children detained after crossing the U.S.-Mexico border.

The bill passed along party lines after House Speaker Nancy Pelosi quelled a mini-revolt by progressives and Hispanic lawmakers who sought significant changes to the legislation. New provisions added to the bill Tuesday were more modest than what those lawmakers had sought, but the urgent need for the funding — to prevent the humanitarian emergency on the border from turning into a debacle — appeared to outweigh any lingering concerns.  Continue reading “House passes $4.5 billion emergency border aid package to care for detained migrant families”

New reports from across the country show that police departments are unable to keep their numbers up as fewer people are applying to be cops. There is a police recruitment crisis in America but this should not surprise anyone and can serve as a major opportunity, if we seize it.

According to Bethesda Magazine, numbers in Montgomery county, Maryland show police recruitment has dropped by nearly half in just the last few years. Instead of looking both inward and outward, officials are simply blaming it on increased police scrutiny.  Continue reading “Reports Show US Police Having Trouble Hiring More Cops — A Sign We Need a Major Change”

Negotiations with Iran are over before they could even take place.  After President Trump and Iranian leadership exchanged more insults on Tuesday, the Iranians declared that the “channel of diplomacy” is now closed “forever”.  Of course anything is possible in the future, but for now it appears that any possibility of a diplomatic solution is completely dead, and the clock is ticking because two exceedingly important deadlines are coming up within the next two weeks.  Continue reading “2019 Could Be The Year That A War With Iran Changes Everything, And 2 Key Deadlines Loom Within The Next 2 Weeks”

Mexico City (AFP) – Mexico has deployed nearly 15,000 soldiers and National Guardsmen to its border with the United States, the army chief said Monday — admitting they are detaining migrants who try to cross, after the policy triggered backlash.

Under pressure from US President Donald Trump to slow the surge of Central Americans crossing the border, Mexico promised earlier this month to reinforce its southern border with 6,000 National Guardsmen, but had not previously disclosed the extent of the crackdown on its northern border.  Continue reading “Mexico deploys 15,000 troops to US border to slow migration”

Denver, CO — In a likely move to bolster the city’s bottom line, Denver Park Rangers are stepping up efforts to catch people speeding. No, they aren’t going after cars driving on the road, they are going after bicycles who are driving on the designated bicycle path.

Throughout parks in the city, the set speed limit for riding a bicycle is apparently 15 miles per hour. Rangers have setup speed traps around parks, using radar guns to clock people on bicycles who would dare cross that threshold.
