"For some reason they just don't respect us like they used to."Cop Block – by Newarkadvocate.com

A Newark NJ police chief said in his retirement speech, “They want us to come to them,” he said. “People don’t want to put their hands up, they want to challenge you.” You can read it here. He continued to reminisce about a time when he started his career, and people just did whatever an officer told them to do. He misses that. I think we all miss a time when walking down the street did not mean you would be contacted by a cop, too.

We all miss the days when police could be trusted. These cops fail to see the situations they created. Then they want to blame the people in society. They blame the abuse on the bad apples. They blame everything else, except their own selves. If cops wanna know why people don’t respect them anymore, they need only to look in the mirror!   Continue reading “NJ Police Chief: People Just Don’t Respect Police Anymore”

Alter-Net – by Jeffrey Chester

The Internet and our digital media are quietly becoming a pervasive and manipulative interactive surveillance system.  Leading U.S. online companies, while claiming to be strong supporters of an open and democratic Internet, are working behind the scenes to ensure that they have unlimited and unchecked power to “shadow” each of us online.  They have allied with global advertisers to transform the Internet into a medium whose true ambition is to track, influence and sell, in a never-ending cycle, their products and political ideas.  While Google, Facebook and other digital giants claim to strongly support a “democratic” Internet, their real goal is to use all the “screens”we use to empower a highly commercialized and corporatized digital media culture.   Continue reading “Under the Radar, Big Media Internet Giants Get Massive Access to Everything About You”

The Hill – by Mike Lillis

Tea Party Republicans contemplating a bid to oust Rep. John Boehner (R-Ohio) shouldn’t count on Democrats to help them unseat the Speaker.

And without their support, there is no chance to topple Boehner in this Congress.

A number of right-wing Republicans, long wary of Boehner’s commitment to GOP efforts attacking President Obama’s policy priorities, have openly considered a coup in an attempt to transfer the gavel into more conservative hands.   Continue reading “Dems vow to protect Boehner from conservative coup”

The Chengdu J-20 is China’s fifth-generation fighter, its response to the US F-35 and the Russian T-50. The J-20 is a stealth aircraft that is currently in its fourth round of prototypes.

The J-20 bears striking resemblance to the F-35 and the F-22, likely due to data theft and Chinese imitation of the skeletons of both planes. China may have the design specifications needed to give the J-20 stealth capabilities that are on par with the F-35.

Although the plane is estimated to have a striking range of 1,000 nautical miles, the aircraft itself is still reliant upon Russian engines and in a relatively early stage of its development.   Continue reading “These Chinese Military Advancements Are Shifting The Balance Of Power In Asia”

The following announcement appeared on CNBC.com via Globe Newswire. It is extremely well cited and it shatters the lies and propaganda of the vaccine industry — an industry that’s losing the P.R. on every front due to their verbal abuse of vaccine-damaged children, strong-arm intimidation tactics and attempted government coercion to demand vaccine obedience.   Continue reading “Recently vaccinated children a threat to public health: Evidence shows they can SPREAD disease and CAUSE outbreaks”

Chinese World CurrencyThe Economic Collapse Blog – by Michael Snyder

The Chinese do not plan to live in a world dominated by the U.S. dollar for much longer.  Chinese leaders have been calling for the U.S. dollar to be replaced as the primary global reserve currency for a long time, but up until now they have never been very specific about what they would put in place of it.  Many have assumed that the Chinese simply wanted some new international currency to be created.  But what if that is not what the Chinese had in mind?  What if they have always wanted their own currency to become the single most dominant currency on the entire planet?  What you are about to see is rather startling, but it shouldn’t be a surprise.  When it comes to economics and finance, the Chinese have always been playing chess while the western world has been playing checkers.  Sadly, we have gotten to the point where checkmate is on the horizon.   Continue reading “China Has Announced Plans For A ‘World Currency’”

The unrelenting parade of winter storms continued Wednesday as a swath of snow, sleet, ice and rain was set to fall from Texas to the Northeast, a distance of about 1,500 miles.

Close to 100 million people will be affected by the storm, according to AccuWeather meteorologist Alex Sosnowski.

Snow should be mainly light in Texas, Oklahoma and Kansas but should fall heavily at times from the middle part of the Mississippi Valley to the Ohio Valley, central Appalachians and Mid-Atlantic.   Continue reading “March mess: Storm to dump snow from Texas to Northeast”

The petition up on WhiteHouse.gov against mandatory vaccinations — the one the White House tried to bury — has, at the time of writing this, reached well over the 100,000 signatures needed by March 6th in order to supposedly garner a response from our president’s administration.

The petition is short, sweet, and to the point:

No human being should be FORCED to be vaccinated against their will and/or personal/religious beliefs. I petition against making vaccinations of any kind mandatory. This includes forcing children to be vaccinated to attend public schools, activities, and daycare centers. This also includes adults working in the public or private sector.   Continue reading “White House Petition Against Mandatory Vaccination Reaches 100,000 Signature Threshold — Will Obama Respond?”

Common Dreams – by Nadia Prupis

A week after the Federal Communications Commission passed a landmark vote enshrining protections for net neutrality and mobile broadband, Republicans and cable industry giants are reiterating their vows to fight the ruling—but new comments by FCC chief Tom Wheeler indicate that the commission is ready to take them on.

Rep. Greg Walden (R-Ore.), who heads the House Communications and Technology Subcommittee, on Wednesday said during an industry summit hosted by the American Cable Association that the FCC’s new rules are “a total overreach,” calling them “illogical and illegal.”   Continue reading “In Net Neutrality Fight, Both Sides Gear Up for Long Haul”

Supreme CourtThe Bureau of Investigative Journalism – by Melanie Newman

The Supreme Court has confirmed that where the state retains data on individuals without their consent, it is interfering with their privacy even when that data is public.

But despite this finding the court ruled that the Metropolitan Police acted lawfully by keeping details of the activities of a 90-year-old pensioner with no criminal record as the interference with his private life was “minor”.   Continue reading “Supreme Court: Police retention of data on peaceful protester breaches privacy rights, but is justified”

A leading US conservative currently considering a presidential run sparked controversy today when he claimed sexuality was a matter of choice because a lot people entered prison straight and emerged gay.

Ben Carson, a black neurosurgeon-turned-conservative activist, told a US broadcaster the fight for gay marriage equality bore no resemblance to that struggle for civil rights because people “have no control” of their race.   Continue reading “Ben Carson: Potential Republican presidential candidate says sexuality is a choice because ‘straight people turn gay in prison’”
