The State Department said Monday that it has no records on hand showing that Seddique Mateen, the father of Orlando shooter Omar Mateen, ever met with department officials in Washington.

The elder Mateen posted pictures of himself posing outside of a State Department office, leading to questions about whether he ever met with U.S. policymakers. Authorities on Sunday were trying to determine the intentions of an Indiana man with a cache of weapons, ammunition and explosive-making materials in his car and apparent plans to attend the L.A. Pride festival in West Hollywood.

The Email Privacy Act, which passed the House 419-0, is slated for consideration in the Senate Judiciary Committee hearing this week. The legislation updates the now 30-year old Electronic Communications Privacy Act to, among other things, require law enforcement to generally get a warrant before it seizes the content of one’s emails. An officer-involved shooting prompted a lockdown Friday afternoon at Dallas Love Field Airport.

Video posted on Instagram shows officers responding about 12:20 p.m. with their guns drawn. Several shots can be heard as authorities yelled for someone to stay down.

A man barricaded himself in a home in Northern California overnight after allegedly opening fire on police and fleeing Wednesday afternoon, authorities say.

Police say they have made contact with the man.

After an hours-long manhunt and hours of negotiations, officers deployed teargas into the house in the Fremont area in an attempt to get the suspect to come out, according to the Alameda County Sheriff’s Department.
