Damn straight. Two identical guns are best. One can be reserved exclusively for serious use after checking for sight alignment and reliability with at least several hundred rounds. The other one can be dedicated for practice, since it takes thousands of rounds of practice to become truly good with a handgun.
High round counts will eventually break parts, so find out the recommended spare parts and have some in stock.
If the SHTF, handguns will be VERY important due to their easy concealability and portability.
As always, I recommend the HK VP9 or P30 in 9mm, or the FNS-9 by FN if you’re on a budget. These guns have superb track records of holding up to hard use.
