A US watchdog is asking why 16 planes bought for the Afghan Air Force, costing almost $500 million, were turned into scrap metal valued at just $32,000. The government wants to know why hundreds of millions of taxpayers’ money were wasted on the project.

The military transport planes had been sitting at Kabul International Airport for years, before they were sent for scrap. John Sopko, the Special Inspector General for Afghanistan Reconstruction (SIGAR), wants to know why the money was wasted. According to Reuters, he had asked Air Force Secretary Deborah James to keep a record of all decisions concerning the destruction of the 16 C-27J planes.   Continue reading “US planes worth $500mn sold for scrap in Afghanistan – for just $32,000”

A human stem cells (Reuters / Yves Herman)RT

In what could be a major breakthrough for diabetes treatment, scientists have discovered a way to drastically alter human embryonic stem cells, transforming them into cells that produce and release insulin.

Developed by researchers at Harvard University, the innovative new technique involves essentially recreating the formation process of beta cells, which are located in the pancreas and secrete insulin. By stimulating certain genes in a certain order, the Boston Globe reports that scientists were able to charm embryonic stem cells – and even altered skin cells – into becoming beta cells.   Continue reading “Diabetes breakthrough: Human stem cells altered to make insulin”

NJ.com – by Matthew Stanmyre

It came without warning.

It would start with a howling noise from a senior football player at Sayreville War Memorial High School, and then the locker room lights were abruptly shut off.

In the darkness, a freshman football player would be pinned to the locker room floor, his arms and feet held down by multiple upperclassmen. Then, the victim would be lifted to his feet while a finger was forced into his rectum. Sometimes, the same finger was then shoved into the freshman player’s mouth.   Continue reading “Sayreville football parent reveals sexual nature of alleged locker room hazing ritual”

NEW YORK (AP) — Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella apologized Thursday night and said he was wrong for saying that women don’t need to ask for a raise and should just trust the system to pay them well.

Nadella was blasted on Twitter and in blog posts for his comments, which were made earlier Thursday at an event for women in computing. Tech companies hire many more men than women. And beyond the tech industry, women are typically paid less than men.   Continue reading “Microsoft CEO apologizes for comments on women”

Wisconsin Gov. Scott WalkerLA Times – by David D. Savage

The U.S. Supreme Court late Thursday blocked Wisconsin from enforcing its strict voter identification law in November’s election.

By a 6-3 vote, the justices granted an emergency appeal from civil rights lawyers, who argued it was too late to put the rule into effect this year.

Lawyers for the ACLU noted that the state had already sent out thousands of absentee ballots without mentioning the need for voters to return a copy of their photo identification.   Continue reading “Wisconsin and Texas voter ID laws blocked by courts”

Northwest Liberty News – by James White

A few days ago, a colleague and I were having a conversation about current events and he stated that he agreed with most of the things that I publish, but not all.  Of course, inquiring minds want to know, so I posed the question.  Basically, he said that he agreed with most everything except for the idea that there is some organized group plotting things.  He just doesn’t buy it.  He thinks that our government is inept, and couldn’t get enough intelligent minds together to plan a softball game.  I’m paraphrasing, but you get the idea.  So it is for him, my wayward colleague, that I edited the short video below.  If the following video leaves any doubt about the overall globalist plan, then I am, frankly, at a loss to help you further. A farmer recently posed a question to me and it deserves a public answer. How can you make people see that this is about them and their life?” Very good question indeed. How can we?

About half the people hide their fears by supporting whichever regime is in control at the time. And if you are awake you realize the false left right paradigm shift they are walking us through. Well, those people  need to be woke up and sometimes it takes a little more than a gentle nudge, and as many of you may have witnessed all the ‘ice bucket’ challenges this past Summer, even that has not proved to be an effective way to wake the sheep from their slumber. President Barack Obama will declare a swath of the San Gabriel Mountains near Los Angeles as a national monument on Friday, the White House said, following an 11-year effort that got caught up in partisan politics.

Along with the designation, the U.S. Forest Service will dedicate $1 million in educational staff, graffiti removal and other long-deferred maintenance work, and non-profit foundations have committed an additional $3.5 million for restoration and stewardship of mountain areas.   Continue reading “Obama to declare Los Angeles-area mountains national monument”

Is the Obama regime preparing for mass arrests of Americans? Some indicators suggest this is a real possibility.

It has all the laws it needs to imprison anyone should it plan to make mass arrests (thanks, Congress, for the unconstitutional Patriot Act and National Defense Authorization Act).

It has illegally compiled lists of some 8 million names, (thank you, FBI and NSA).   Continue reading “Police State: Obama Planning Mass Arrests?”

border-fence-AZSHTF Plan – by Mac Slavo

Representative Duncan Hunter (R-CA) recently claimed that a high-level Department of Homeland Security official informed him of the capture of at least ten Islamic State terrorists on the Texas-Mexico border. A DHS spokesperson speaking with the New Republic unequivocally denied the Congressman’s claims:

“The suggestion that individuals who have ties to ISIL have been apprehended at the Southwest border is categorically false, and not supported by any credible intelligence or the facts on the ground,” said DHS spokesperson Marsha Catron. Last Resistance – by Dave Jolly

According to a report from Examiner.com, the Department of Homeland Security, which is taking on an eerie similarity to Hitler’s Gestapo, will begin to target and intensify attacks against Americans who are freedom oriented. In their report, they write:

“Within the last two weeks several tips came into the Examiner indicating pending dangers to certain groups of citizens. These tips led to a source who, speaking on condition of anonymity, alleges that just after the election a major initiative will be launched against citizens whose values are diametrically opposite to that of Barack Obama and the current Washington elitist leadership in Congress. According to the source, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) will greatly intensify its attacks on freedom oriented citizens.”   Continue reading “Government to Attack Americans Who Value Freedoms”

The Importance of Understanding the U.S. ConstitutionThe John Birch Society – by Art Thompson

In this week’s analysis behind the news video, JBS CEO Art Thompson discusses how we all need to understand the Constitution; how officeholders and military personnel take an oath to support the Constitution; how such oath takers really ought to know what the Constitution says and means; how there is a problem with how the Constitution is taught in the schools, as for example the Second Amendment; how there is a movement to change the Constitution through a constitutional convention or convention of the states, such as altering the Second Amendment to restrict our right to keep and bear arms; how conservatives that are working to alter the Constitution for conservative purposes by means of an Article V convention are working together with those who want to alter the Second Amendment to get such a convention called; how the Obama administration is toying with limiting free speech by enforcing political correctness by means of fines for using the Washington Redskins team name during broadcasts; and how we need to study the Constitution, such as viewing the JBS set of DVDs, The Constitution Is the Solution.
