US President Barack Obama surprised his visitors, the delegation of Eastern Christians patriarchs, on Thursday when he told them that Syrian President Bashar al-Assad “protected the Christians in Syria.”
Obama met with the delegation in the White House for 35 minutes, during which the patriarchs presented a paper in which they exposed the situation of Christians in the Middle East and the threats and challenges they are facing, due in part to the expansion of the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS) militant group. An Islamic State (ISIS) magazine called Dabiq has warned that the United States and other Western “crusaders” are facing Armageddon at the hands of the terror group’s fighters.
The publication is packed with disturbing pictures of bloody corpses, bombed-out buildings and knife-wielding jihadists, while one issue even has a section devoted to the beheading of American journalist James Foley, The Washington Post reports. DARPA continues to develop an array of robots designed for the battlefield. Naturally, one of their slated applications is to chase human prey.
In February, 2011, DARPA first announced its next-generation robot called the Cheetah; it was heralded as the world’s fastest legged robot. In fact, its speed of 28.3 mph was faster than the world’s fastest man, Usain Bolt. However, its speed was reached in a laboratory setting, tethered on a treadmill for stability. HOUSTON, Texas — The organizer of this weekend’s planned protest to shut down international ports of entry have a message to militia groups – You are not welcome. This statement came in response to a Breitbart Texas article about police agency preparations for the protest planned for the weekend.
In an interview with Breitbart Texas, Staysi Barth, organizer of “Shut Down All Ports of Entry”, said militia groups are not welcome at the national event planned for this weekend across the southern border of the United States. “Only peaceful protesters are coming,” Barth said. (Washington) Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) on Sunday slammed President Barack Obama’s strategy for combating Islamic State militants and said the president needs to significantly step up military action against the terrorist group before it comes to the United States and “we all get killed.”
In an interview on “Fox News Sunday,” Graham said the Obama administration is “delusional” for thinking it can counter the Islamic State, a terrorist group in Syria sometimes called ISIS or ISIL, primarily through expanded air strikes and by training Syrians for ground combat. Trade statistics for the month of August have just been released in India, showing a huge surge in gold imports compared to August of 2013. The value of gold officially imported into India in August totalled $2.04 billion, which was nearly three times more than the August 2013 figure of $739 million.
Although the Indian trade deficit fell to $10.84 billion in August from $12.2 billion in July on the back of a lower oil price and a drop in the value of oil imports from $14.3 billion to $12.8 billion, the deficit would have been lower were it not for the surge in the value of gold imports. A family brings their elderly mother to a nursing home. While sitting in her new room, she slowly starts to lean over sideways in her chair. Two attentive nurses immediately straighten her up.
After a while, she starts to tilt to the other side. The nurses rush back to put her upright. This goes on all morning.

Four children in Lake County were sickened by Enterovirus D68 and were treated at University of Chicago Hospital, according to a press release from the Indiana Department of Health; all four have since been discharged from the hospital. Prepare yourself for a future filled with real-life pew pew! The Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency is working with Lockheed Martin to test “a new beam control turret… to give 360-degree coverage for high-energy laser weapons operating on military aircraft.”
In other words, it stuck a primitive (by rebel standards) “Star Wars”-style laser cannon on a fighter jet and flew it over Michigan eight times.
