Nearly a dozen Senate Democrats called on President Joe Biden on Monday to fight high gas prices by considering a release of barrels from the nation’s emergency oil stockpile, or even taking the more extreme step of banning oil exports.
In the letter, Senators Elizabeth Warren, Sherrod Brown, Jack Reed and others warned that the seven-year high in gas prices has “placed an undue burden on families and small businesses trying to make ends meet.” Continue reading “Senate Democrats urge Biden to consider tapping emergency oil reserves or even ban oil exports to fight high prices”
Oil Price – by Tsvetana Paraskova
U.S. consumers and utilities will be paying much higher prices for natural gas and energy this winter, as record American natural gas exports amid sluggish domestic production growth have raised prices for the fuel.
The global natural gas supply crunch has impacted U.S. prices, too. But it has also drawn record volumes of gas exports out of America this year, leaving lower volumes for the domestic market, on which major natural gas producers are sticking to capital discipline to reward shareholders and are not rushing to raise output. President Joe Biden’s White House has advised businesses with 100 or more employees to follow his vaccine mandate despite the temporary halt from a federal court of appeals.
“People should not wait,” White House Deputy Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre told reporters on Monday. “They should continue to move forward and make sure they’re getting their workplace vaccinated.” Continue reading “Biden White House Tells Businesses to Follow Vaccine Mandate Despite Court Block”
A majority of American voters want the border closed to stop the flow of hundreds of thousands of migrants, and they oppose giving taxpayer-funded compensation to those who entered the United States with children illegally, according to a poll through a partnership of the Trafalgar Group and the Convention of States Action.
The poll found that 67 percent of American voters disapprove of President Joe Biden’s plan to pay $450,000 settlements to illegal aliens who were separated — compliant to federal law — from their parents. A Colorado police officer who fatally shot a bystander hailed as a hero for stopping a gunman armed with a rifle will not be charged, prosecutors said Monday.
The officer, whose identity has not been made public, had “objectively reasonable grounds” to believe the officer and others faced imminent danger when the officer opened fire June 21 in Arvada, north of Denver, killing a bystander, John Hurley, 40, First Judicial District Attorney Alexis King told reporters. The largest undercover force the world has ever known is the one created by the Pentagon over the past decade. Some 60,000 people now belong to this secret army, many working under masked identities and in low profile, all part of a broad program called “signature reduction.” The force, more than ten times the size of the clandestine elements of the CIA, carries out domestic and foreign assignments, both in military uniforms and under civilian cover, in real life and online, sometimes hiding in private businesses and consultancies, some of them household name companies. Texas Gov. Greg Abbott (R) denounced President Joe Biden’s Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm after she said on Sunday that she hopes gas prices do not increase to $4 per gallon.
“There’s no reason to “hope” gas prices won’t reach $4 (which it already has in parts of U.S.). Gas prices would go down if Biden stopped hindering the energy sector in America. There’s no reason to beg OPEC for more oil. Texas can produce it & make America energy independent,” the Republican governor said in a tweet. Continue reading “Texas Gov. Greg Abbott Slams Biden’s Energy Secretary for ‘Hoping’ Gas Prices Do Not Exceed $4”

The Biden administration in just the past year alone stockpiled the records of more than 54 million U.S. gun owners and is poised to drastically alter gun regulations to ensure that information on Americans who own firearms ultimately ends up in the federal government’s hands, according to internal Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms (ATF) documents obtained by the Washington Free Beacon. President Biden ran on a “Build Back Better” agenda in his 2020 campaign, which included infrastructure and economic reforms. Hidden in Democrats $1.6 Trillion spending package to advance his agenda is a plan to give amnesty to 8 million illegal immigrants. Some sources, such as the Heritage Foundation, put the number even higher, at 11 to 22 million. Democratic politicians have said that amnesty and Biden’s infrastructure bill are “inextricably linked”, and will refuse to consider one without the other in the bill. “We have to have total agreement on both before we move either” said Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D). The Biden administration is reportedly weighing the potential market consequences of shutting down an oil pipeline in Michigan, drawing criticism from opponents. Former Michigan Gov. Jennifer Granholm, Biden’s energy secretary, predicted Sunday that heating prices will rise this winter regardless of the Biden administration’s decision on the pipeline. “Yeah, this is going to happen. It will be more expensive this year than last year,” Granholm told CNN.
The administration has yet to decide on what to do with Line 5 and officials were gathering information only to present a clear picture of the situation, according to sources who spoke to Politico. It’s highly unlikely that the United States, let alone the world, will be able to completely eliminate the coronavirus that causes Covid-19.
But there will come a day when it’s no longer a pandemic, when cases are no longer out of control and hospitals aren’t at great risk of overflowing with patients. Many experts predict the spread of coronavirus will look and feel more like seasonal influenza. Continue reading “What the end of the Covid-19 pandemic could look like”

PHILADELPHIA — A drone that crashed near a Pennsylvania power substation last year was likely meant to damage or disrupt the electric equipment, according to a federal law enforcement bulletin obtained by ABC News and CNN.
The July 2020 incident is the first known case of a “modified unmanned aircraft system likely being used in the United States to specifically target energy infrastructure,” states the October 28 memo from the FBI, Department of Homeland Security and the National Counterterrorism Center. That statement is based on a review of drone incidents dating back to 2017. Continue reading “Drone at Pa. electric substation was first to ‘specifically target energy infrastructure’”
