In 2010 the U.S. gave away some 55 Billion dollars to countries all over the world.
In addition to all the homeless – many of them veterans – there is always the subject of the abject poverty in hundreds of U.S. inner cities.

The troubled pizza deliveryman who terrorized a New Jersey mall with a high-powered rifle was apparently hoping a police bullet would take him out of his misery.

The irony of it all was this happened right at the 50th Anniversary of Civil Liberties in August.
