Washington, DC –(Ammoland.com)- In New York, the Arms Trade Treaty (ATT) conference is entering its final phase, and the ways in which the negotiations might fail are becoming clearer.
A large number of nations—mainly the Middle East but also Bangladesh, Cuba, North Korea, Venezuela, Zimbabwe, and others—are not going to get much of what they want from this treaty. That is a good thing. These nations want the treaty to: Continue reading “The Arms Trade Treaty, Week Two: The Ways It Might Fail”
TEL AVIV – Did former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton commit perjury when she claimed in a Senate hearing that she did not know whether the U.S. mission in Libya was procuring or transferring weapons to Turkey and other Arab countries?
The goal of the alleged weapons shipments was to arm the rebels fighting Syrian President Bashar al-Assad’s regime. Continue reading “Did Hillary Commit Perjury?”

According to a new Harris Poll survey, conducted on behalf of the management consulting firm Accenture, less than one-third of U.S. doctors think patients should have full access to their own electronic health records.
As a patient, you may literally trust your doctor with your life, and the doctor-patient relationship relies on this level of trust. The relationship should be one of give and take, even if the exchange is sometimes dominated by the professional. Continue reading “Electronic Health Records: Doctors Want to Keep Patients Out”
LOS ANGELES — Five former elected officials of the tiny California city of Bell were convicted Wednesday of multiple counts of misappropriation of public funds, and a sixth defendant was cleared entirely. Former Mayor Oscar Hernandez (pictured below) and co-defendants Teresa Jacobo, George Mirabal, George Cole and Victor Belo were all convicted of multiple counts and acquitted of others.

The first effort emerged in Texas. Legislation proposed by Dallas Democratic Rep. Yvonne Davis would remove any sheriff or law enforcement officer who refuses to enforce state or federal laws. Continue reading “Law Would Fire Sheriffs For Defying Gun Control Measures”

WASHINGTON — Vice President Joe Biden said Wednesday the expected upcoming Senate votes on gun control are only the beginning of the White House’s fight.
The fate of gun control legislation is unclear. A vote on a Senate bill, including expanded background checks and harsher penalties for gun trafficking, is expected next month. Continue reading “Joe Biden: Gun Control Votes ‘Only The Beginning’”

First it was a secret “kill list” on which Nobel Peace Laureate Barack Obama names those he wishes to be assassinated. The names included American citizens Anwar al-Awlaki and Samir Khan who died in a drone strike in Yemen on September 30th, 2011. Neither was indicted or charged with a crime. They were killed as ‘terrorists’ at the discretion of one man whose signature now constitutes due process.
Then, on March 20th, the Obama administration put a $5 million bounty on each of two American citizens: Abu Mansur Al-Amriki (alias Omar Hammami) and Jehad Serwan Mostafa. They are accused of being fighters for the Islamic militant group al Shabaab which is based in Somalia. Continue reading “Totalitarianism is the New Normal”
Of course, it’s hard to honestly expect President Barack Obama to do the right thing, but many people held out hope that he would veto the most dangerous food act ever to pass the US Congress. After all, one of his campaign promises the first time around was to enforce the labeling of GMOs. His wife has that famous organic garden on the White House lawn. We can trust the Obamas, right?
Wrong. Continue reading “Obama Betrays Americans Again…with the Monsanto Protection Act”
SEOUL, March 27 (Reuters) – Reclusive North Korea is to cut the last channel of communications with the South because war could break out at “any moment”, it said on Wednesday, days of after warning the United States and South Korea of nuclear attack.
The move is the latest in a series of bellicose threats from North Korea in response to new U.N. sanctions imposed after its third nuclear test in February and to “hostile” military drills under way joining the United States and South Korea. One Neil Heslin is trying to put himself above every other man and woman in this country. If you believe the official story of Sandy Hook, Heslin’s son, Jesse, was killed by Adam Lanza and Heslin is now demanding that strict infringements upon our 2nd Amendment right be initiated. Heslin has become quite the national figure, appearing on multiple networks and at Congressional Hearings where he sobbed uncontrollably as he implored Congress to unconstitutionally infringe upon the 2nd Amendment.
It was interesting to note, I must say it was the first time I have seen anyone sob without producing tears. I do not know who this guy is or who he thinks he is, but I can tell you what his rights are as they are the same as mine. If he does not want a gun, he does not have to have one. But the only way he can take mine away is via a twelve person jury in a common law court, as this government has absolutely zero authority to do so. Officials at the Bodega Association of the United States last week vowed to smoke out Mayor Michael Bloomberg’s proposal to ban the display of tobacco products in retail stores throughout the five boroughs.
“Where does it end?” association president Ramon Murphy told reporters. “Yesterday he went after sodas, today it’s cigarettes. The next day it’ll be chips, then sugar – and then ice cream,” Murphy said. Continue reading “Retailers Tell Bloomberg: ‘Butt Out Of Our Business’”
On the 10th anniversary of New York City banning smoking in bars and restaurants, Mayor Michael Bloomberg rebuffed any claims that his controversial public health policies violate the underpinnings of American capitalism.
“We interfere with free enterprise all the time,” Mr. Bloomberg said this morning at a press conference commemorating the Smoke-Free Air Act. “We set minimum prices and sizes on lots of things. … Most of the cost of cigarettes is in taxes and they’re taxes that are enacted by Albany. So if you don’t like that, my suggestion is you go up to Albany and ask them why they’re taxing cigarettes. I happen to think it’s a great idea because it saves kids’s lives, so maybe you want to also talk to the parents of the kids and say, ‘We’re gonna try to stop this and have them smoke and they’ll die.’” Continue reading “Mayor Bloomberg: ‘We Interfere With Free Enterprise All the Time’”

GRAND FORKS — Sen. Heidi Heitkamp, D-N.D., responded sharply Tuesday to New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg’s TV ad campaign targeting senators who may be reluctant to support pending gun control legislation.
Bloomberg is personally financing the campaign in 13 states, including North Dakota, where he believes senators, Republicans and Democrats, need pressure from constituents to vote for requiring background checks for all gun purchases. Continue reading “Heitkamp tells Bloomberg to butt out on guns”
