U.S. Olympic Committee Chief Executive Scott Blackmun said Friday that he is talking to 10 cities about a possible bid for the 2024 Summer Games and mentioned an intriguing pairing: A joint proposal from San Diego and Tijuana, Mexico.

Reuters, Washington – A group of nations should get troops ready to invade Syria in order to secure possible stocks of chemical weapons, a senior U.S. senator said on Sunday.
Senator John McCain, a Republican from Arizona, said U.S. troops should not go into Syria, but that an international force must “be ready operationally” to go in and prevent Islamic militants involved in Syria’s civil war from getting their hands on chemical weapons. I discovered through the local grapevine here that Fort Hunter Liggett military training base has been developed into a drone base as well which is 1 hour and 20 minutes north of me.
The leasing agent in my apartment complex told me yesterday that an Army serviceman rented an apartment in our complex, and although he wasn’t supposed to say, he did tell her “we fight the war from Hunger Liggett. New York City police officials intend to expand the already extensive use of surveillance cameras throughout town. The plan, unveiled Thursday, comes as part of a drive for increased security around the US following the Boston Marathon attack.
New York City Police Department Commissioner Ray Kelly announced the plan during a press conference with Mayor Michael Bloomberg, in which the two announced that the suspected Boston Marathon bombers were planning to attack New York next. The pair said they hope to discourage criminals by using so-called “smart cameras” that will aggregate data from 911 alerts, arrest records, mapped crime patterns, surveillance cameras and radiation detectors, among other tools, according to The Verge.
