Kano, Nigeria (CNN) — Dozens of residents in northeastern Nigeria have been killed in two separate attacks launched by Boko Haram Islamists, according to officials and residents.

Residents of Oklahoma were left feeling rattled over the weekend after a strong of some 20 earthquakes as powerful as 3.5 magnitude rocked the central part of the state on Saturday alone.

Despite virulent pushback in the Twittersphere, CNN aired Chris Cuomo’s interview with George Zimmerman Monday morning on “New Day.” During the interview Zimmerman called himself a scapegoat for the political purposes of the “government, the president, the attorney general.”

Connecticut State Police Lieutenant Paul Vance reported last week on the failure of gun owners in the state to register their “assault” weapons, noting that fewer than 50,000 applications had been received from the owners of an estimated 350,000 weapons in the state. And even that number might be too small.
