Freedom Outpost – by David Risselada
Sometimes when shady plans backfire, they backfire really well. This was definitely the case on Saturday May 31st in Tulsa Oklahoma, as The Oklahoma Open Carry Association met Moms Demand Action for the first time.
The anti-gun group requested a booth at the local farmers market and was denied, so they set up shop right on the outskirts of the downtown Tulsa event in order to gather signatures. They were a bit surprised when members of The Oklahoma Open Carry Association approached them to ask some questions. As is usually the case when dealing with liberals, the questions we asked went unanswered as the host of their event, (who incidentally, didn’t look like that much of a mom seeing as though he was a man) deflected the questions and attempted to change the subject, ridicule and even accuse us of wanting to start a war with the police. This came about because he made it perfectly clear that he didn’t want to be in any public establishment with citizens carrying handguns in the open. He was alluding to his belief that we are just a bunch of untrained rednecks that simply shoot indiscriminately in all directions just to prove how big our egos are. One must question why we wouldn’t have sent in help, that was available, to save our Ambassador in Benghazi and why Sec of State John Kerry would not have demanded the release of our Marine, Sgt Tahmooressi, sitting in a jail in Mexico for making the wrong turn, when Kerry was already down there, but we would exchange 5 Taliban Commanders for one soldier that now seems to have gone AWOL and perhaps even joined the Taliban?!? The Hill – by Alexander Bolton
The White House has apologized to Senate Intelligence Committee Chairwoman Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) for failing to alert her in advance of a decision to release Taliban commanders from Guantanamo Bay.
Feinstein told reporters that she received a call from Deputy National Security Adviser Tony Blinken on Monday evening apologizing for what the administration is calling an “oversight.” Continue reading “WH apologizes to Senate intel chief for prisoner swap secret”
BANGKOK (AP) – Thailand’s military rulers said Tuesday they are monitoring a new form of silent resistance to the coup – a three-fingered salute borrowed from “The Hunger Games” – and will arrest those in large groups who ignore warnings to lower their arms.
Despite the warning to protesters, the junta offered a reprieve to the country’s vital tourism industry. It lifted the military’s curfew at three popular beach resorts – Phuket, Koh Samui and Pattaya – to ease the impact of the May 22 coup on tourists. As a conscious gardener, I am aware that unless we all start foraging again and totally return to nature (which certainly wouldn’t be a bad thing in this day and age), that our gardens will always be a little out of balance – no matter how kind to the earth we are. Yet, I am always seeking to find the most compassionate, resourceful ways to grow veggies whilst causing as little disharmony as I can along the way.
One of the biggest battles I have found with gardening in the UK, especially in Somerset (which appears to be rain and flood central at the moment) is how to stop slugs and snails from wiping out my entire crop of vegetables. These hungry little molluscs are the bane of most kitchen gardens and whilst I love all animals, it hardly seems fair that they’ve often eaten far more of my vegetable crop than I ever have… Continue reading “Keeping slugs & snails off your veggies compassionately”

SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — A respected chemist famed for dusting off a decades-old recipe for the psychedelic drug ecstasy has died.
Alexander Shulgin died Monday at his Northern California home at the age of 88.
His wife, Ann, says liver cancer was the cause. She says he was diagnosed about a year ago. Continue reading “Alexander Shulgin Dead: Chemist Some Called ‘Godfather Of Ecstasy’ Dies At 88”
Millard reports the service went very well and he and his friend got a lot of footage. Being working folk, they probably can’t start editing until tomorrow. Millard says the You Tube video will be complete as soon as possible and he will be on the site this evening to answer any questions you might have.
(This is not my story, but was forwarded to me by a friend.)
It was a fine summer day…
Well, it would be fine, if it weren’t for all those big yellow dandelions cropping up in the lawn. My husband, Don, and I tried to eliminate them from our view, but with no success. They held steadfast. I was reluctant to use chemicals, thinking of possible harm to our feathered friends who visited the various bird-feeders and bird-houses which Don had built and placed around our yard. The Empire’s Storm Troopers strike back. We need to cover this story and get it out on the air nationwide. My sense is that the mayor, council and the chief of police are all in cahoots. If one goes down, they all go down, that is why they are striking back and hard. The objective is to dissuade people from following through on any effort to either remove the mayor, the prosecutor or the chief of police. Kiev has admitted showering the eastern Ukrainian city of Lugansk with dozens of missiles from the air, saying that its Air Force helicopters and jets “fired more than 150 missiles” in Monday’s military action.
DEATH TOLL: 181 people killed, 293 injured in Kiev military op
The Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) also confirmed on Tuesday that the deadly explosion at the city’s administrative building was indeed an airstrike. Kiev has so far denied the responsibility for the incident, saying its forces “do not target” civilian areas. A humungous Earth-like planet found by US astronomers has changed the perception of planet formation. A rocky world found by Kepler space observatory should by rights have become a giant ball of gas, but has remained a planet for billions of years.
The newly discovered Kepler-10c planet has been dubbed ‘Mega-Earth’ thanks to its diameter of 29,000 kilometers and an estimated weight 17 times greater than Earth, which has a diameter of 12,742 kilometers. This makes Kepler-10c the biggest rocky planet ever discovered. Continue reading “‘The Godzilla of Earths!’ New planet weighing 17 times greater than Earth discovered”
President Obama has announced a plan to invest $1 billion in stepping up its military presence in Eastern Europe amid the Ukrainian crisis. The White House will send more troops and equipment to the region to “reaffirm” its commitment to NATO allies.
Speaking at a news conference in Warsaw, Obama said America was stepping up its partnership with countries in Eastern Europe with a view to bolstering security. The moves are aimed at upping the pressure on Russia, which Washington has accused of inciting unrest in Ukraine. Continue reading “Obama pledges $1bn for more troops, military drills in E. Europe”
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu strongly criticized the Obama administration for pledging to work with the new Palestinian unity government on Tuesday, saying he is “deeply troubled” by the decision.
Additionally, Netanyahu’s office threatened to levy further sanctions on the West Bank-based Palestinian Authority over its decision to reconcile with Gaza-based Hamas, which has been labeled a terrorist organization by the US, European Union, and Israel. A new analysis suggests that more fatalities than originally reported may have resulted from faulty ignition switches used by General Motors in millions of cars sold during the last decade.
GM has gone on the record to acknowledge that 13 deaths have occurred as a result of the flawed switches, which the manufacturer knew for years were prone to abruptly cause affected automobiles to shut down, seizing the vehicles’ power steering, power brakes and airbag deployment mechanism as a result. Continue reading “Dozens of additional deaths linked to GM cars with faulty switches”
