Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) warned Friday that the crisis in Ukraine resembles the geopolitical factors at play when Adolf Hitler and Joseph Stalin led Germany and Russia.
McCain’s comments came after MSNBC’s Andrea Mitchell asked him what he thinks President Barack Obama’s administration should do given Russia’s latest move to welcome a Crimean referendum to secede. WASHINGTON — The first president of an independent Ukraine, who in 1994 sent Soviet nuclear weapons back to Russia in exchange for its pledge not to use force, said nobody believed at the time that an attack from Russia was even possible.

Crimea, Ukraine: Russian troops on Friday attacked a Ukranian military base 5 kilometers from the Ukranian city Sevastopol, located on the Black Sea coast of the Crimean peninsula. No shots have been fired.
According to early reports, members of a pro-Russia militia used a truck to break though the gate of the base. The truck got stuck at the gate, and Russia soldiers climbed over it. Some 70 Ukrainian troops were said to still be holding out in the bunkers. Russians troops who broke through the perimeter demanded the Ukrainian soldiers surrender. The FBI has launched an investigation of the Corrections Corporation of America over the company’s running of an Idaho prison with a reputation so violent that inmates dubbed it “Gladiator School.”
The Nashville, Tenn.-based CCA has operated Idaho’s largest prison for more than a decade, but last year, CCA officials acknowledged it had understaffed the Idaho Correctional Center by thousands of hours in violation of the state contract. CCA also said employees falsified reports to cover up the vacancies. The announcement came after an Associated Press investigation showed CCA sometimes listed guards as working 48 hours straight to meet minimum staffing requirements. Certain Lehigh Valley, Swiss Premium and Price Chopper brand orange juice is being recalled after it was discovered that a manufacturing error caused milk — a potential allergen — to become mixed with the orange juice, the Food and Drug Administration recently reported.
Lehigh Valley Dairy is voluntarily recalling the products, even though there have been no reports of reactions. Lehigh Valley and Swiss Premium orange juices were sold in West Virginia, Virginia, Maryland, Delaware, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Washington, D.C. Much has been written and expressed in many forums, concerning the state in which we find ourselves in. In doing so, both sides have claimed the high ground. The fact remains; the high ground belongs to those who’re attempting to RESTORE this Republic to its foundational roots, in other words, restoring the Bill Of Rights, which will restore Our Constitution.

At first glance Peio is a small alpine ski resort like many others in northern Italy. In winter it is popular with middle-class Italians as well as, increasingly, Russian tourists. In summer there’s good hiking in the Stelvio National Park. It has a spa, shops that sell a dozen different kinds of grappa, and, perhaps, aspirations to be the next Cortina. A cable car was inaugurated three years ago, and a multi-storey car park is under construction.
But in Peio, reminders of the region’s past are never far away. Stroll up through the village and, passing the tiny First World War museum on your left, you come to the 15th-century San Rocco church with its Austro-Hungarian cemetery and sign requesting massimo rispetto. Here, one sunny day last September, 500 people attended the funeral of two soldiers who fell in battle in May 1918.
