The NYC Department of Health (DOH) announced on Monday afternoon that 15 different Brooklyn neighborhoods will be sprayed with a pesticide that kills mosquitoes possibly carrying the West Nile virus.

After nearly two decades, Shell has received the final permission from the US government to begin Arctic oil drilling off the coast of Alaska. This comes ahead of President Barack Obama’s visit to Alaska where he will examine environmental issues.
The area approved for drilling in the Chukchi Sea is estimated to contain about 15 billion barrels of oil, while the Arctic is thought to have more than 20 percent of the world’s undiscovered oil and gas resources. SCHUYLKILL HAVEN (WNEP) — There may be a delay in some construction on Route 61 near Schuylkill Haven, because while a worker was trying to dig up some dirt, he dug up some history instead.
That history includes a mass grave containing old human bones.

STOCKTON, Calif. (AP) — The 600 shots police fired at the chaotic end to a California bank robbery that claimed the life of a hostage were excessive, with some officers only firing their weapons because other officers were shooting, according to a report released Monday.
The report by the nonprofit Police Foundation also found some Stockton police officers opened fire with their colleagues standing right in front of them. The Pentagon is planning a sharp increase in daily drone flights over conflict zones around the globe in the next four years as it tries to meet the reconnaissance and air strike needs of combatant commanders, a spokesman said on Monday.
Navy Captain Jeff Davis, a Defense Department spokesman, said the number of unmanned drone flights, known as combat air patrols, would be increased by about 50 percent by 2019 – from between 60 and 65 a day to about 90. Once upon a time a unique Republic was a country where the rule of law maintained at least the appearance of constitutional government. The role of the US Attorney General was based upon enforcing accountability for government officials who broke statues. America like all other countries always had their share of crooks and thieves in public office. In spite of this, reasonably clear standards for prosecution were honored and appropriate indictments would follow. We’re about to coin a new phrase that perfectly captures the deliberately destructive tool of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) in the hands of Barack Obama and the socialist Left. We’ll call it the “psychosis of socialism.”
The psychosis of socialism is on display as the final rule of the EPA’s Clean Power Plan (CPP) has been set into motion. It mandates by 2030 a reduction in carbon dioxide emissions — the same gas you exhale upon healthy respiration — 32% lower than levels of 2005. The CPP will cost the U.S. economy an estimated $2.5 trillion lost in economic growth, with 66 power plants closed and 125,000 jobs eliminated that generate America’s electricity. The National Security Agency’s ability to spy on vast quantities of Internet traffic passing through the United States has relied on its extraordinary, decades-long partnership with a single company: the telecom giant AT&T.
While it has been long known that American telecommunications companies worked closely with the spy agency, newly disclosed N.S.A. documents show that the relationship with AT&T has been considered unique and especially productive. The U.S. military has canceled a pretrial hearing for suspects in the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks, a military spokesman said on Sunday, in another setback for the government in its efforts to try the five men being held at Guantanamo.

The gun-loving Oath Keepers plan to arm 50 black demonstrators with AR-15 rifles in Ferguson, Missouri, and basically dare police to shoot them.
The leader of the group’s local chapter told Red Dirt Report that the event would likely be held before the end of this month to protest an order last week by law enforcement officers to Oath Keepers to put away their rifles while in city limits. The family has been told to evacuate but are going to stay and fight as long as they can and if necessary try to salvage as much as they can. Joe reports looting is occurring in the area. Family requesting prayer.

Three months after Ferguson erupted in protest over the police killing of unarmed Black teenager Michael Brown, the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department (SLMPD) added an Israeli weapon called skunk to its protest-crushing arsenal, arms industry news website Defense One has confirmed.

A man was critically hurt after setting himself on fire on the steps of the City Hall in Columbus, Ohio.
Fire officials have told local media that a 58-year-old man was taken to Ohio State University’s Wexner Medical Center in critical condition.
