It is unclear why Ohio Governor John Kasich remains in this race. A self-described moderate who supports Obamacare and Common Core, Kasich has tried to be the liberal media’s favorite candidate for President.
He’s stumbled along the way, and right now he’s under intense pressure by the Republican establishment to drop out. His victory in Ohio against conservative businessman Donald Trump changed the delegate math, and he’s also taken just enough delegates away from Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) to be a problem for him, too. A massive, anonymous leak of financial documents from a Panamanian law firm has revealed an extensive worldwide network of offshore “shell” companies — including ones with ties to Russian President Vladimir Putin — that allow the wealthy to hide their assets from taxes and, in some cases, to launder billions in cash, a German newspaper alleges.

It’s been a busy week, apparently, for Oregon’s top elected morons. As they struggle to come up with new ways to enact gun control, Governor Kate Brown, Attorney General Ellen Rosenblum, and senate majority leader Ginny Burdick have apparently been meeting with anti gun organizations behind closed doors, away from the public eye, with no announcement or invitation for anyone else to participate.

An Amtrak train struck a piece of construction equipment just south of Philadelphia Sunday morning, leaving two Amtrak employees dead and nearly three dozen passengers hurt as the lead engine derailed as the train passed through a fireball.
Shortly after 8 a.m., passengers aboard Amtrak’s Palmetto Train 89 felt a jolt as the train struck a backhoe on the tracks between Booth Street and Highland Avenue in Chester, Pennsylvania — not far from the Highland Avenue Station, officials said. Federal authorities logged 30 incidents of threatening behavior, vandalism and other acts at 13 wildlife refuges in the west while armed militants held the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge, according to a new report.
The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, which manages the bird sanctuary southeast of Burns, deployed 150 law enforcement officers to increase security at 63 agency properties in 15 states. That cost the federal agency $2.2 million, contributing to an estimated $6 million in expenses related to the 41-day occupation. LAS VEGAS (AP) — A Nevada judge has refused to let a nationally known conservative lawyer join Cliven Bundy’s defense team because of ongoing disciplinary proceedings against him in Washington, D.C.
The Las Vegas Review-Journal reports (http://bit.ly/1Vk90wP ) that U.S. District Judge Gloria Navarro wrote in a three-page order that she didn’t think Larry Klayman has been candid about the outcome of the disciplinary proceedings. The bullet he’d been dodging for many years finally caught up with the great Oregon wolf, OR4, on March 31. In the early afternoon, officials from the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife shot to death the patriarch of the Imnaha Pack from a helicopter over Wallowa County, an area where gray wolves dispersing from Idaho first began returning to Oregon, where they’d been killed off in the mid-20th century. It’s now legal for couples in all U.S. states to adopt children — regardless of the couple’s gender — after a federal judge struck down Mississippi’s ban on same-sex adoption late Thursday.

CHICAGO (Reuters) – A Chicago doctor and a member of her staff have been charged with falsifying medical documents to help applicants bypass U.S. citizenship tests, prosecutors said on Friday.
Dr. Jasminka Kostic, 59, and Nikki Pozdol, 47, who works in the billing department at Kostic’s office, were each charged with one count of knowingly making false statements in a document submitted to the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Illinois said.
