The opacity of the Chinese Communist government obliges responsible outside observers to look for clues to the truth of the coronavirus epidemic, instead of merely repeating official information without question.

The official count from China is 3,277 fatalities from 81,171 infections as of Tuesday, but the Epoch Times noted the troubling disappearance of some 21 million cell phone accounts in China over the past three months – an unprecedented decline that hints at more fatalities than Beijing is prepared to admit.  Continue reading “21 Million Chinese Cellphone Users Disappear in Three Months of Pandemic”

DENVER — Denver Mayor Michael Hancock on Monday issued a “stay-at-home” executive order amid the coronavirus outbreak, ordering all city residents to stay inside their homes except for essential reasons.

The order — which carries up to a $999 civil penalty, per violation — begins 5 p.m. Tuesday and will run through April 10. Hancock can extend the order, if needed.  Continue reading “Denver mayor issues stay-at-home order amid coronavirus outbreak”

The spread of coronavirus has delayed a lot of wargames, but the US and United Arab Emirates both want to send a message to Iran, and that message comes in the form of 4,000 US troops and combined Emirati fighters conducting the biennial Native Fury exercise.

The exercise took place primarily at al-Hamra base, where a fictional Iranian city was constructed, mosques and all, for the troops to pretend to invade and conquer. Troops rampaged through the narrow streets looking for “enemy fighters.” Continue reading “US, UAE Ignore Coronavirus Risk, Hold Anti-Iran War Games”

Many American graduates will lose their jobs in the coronavirus meltdown unless they pressure C-suite executives to shrink the million-plus H-1B visa workers on the payrolls, say lawyers, political activists, and Americans who have lost jobs in prior mass layoffs.

American graduates “must act now to ensure the huge pending layoffs are imposed on Indian H-1Bs instead of on Americans,” said Marie Larson, a co-founder of the American Workers Coalition.  Continue reading “U.S. Graduates Expect Mass Layoffs as Companies Keep Hiring H-1B Visa Workers”

President Donald Trump reached deep into the belly of the beast of Wall Street for his administration’s key economic positions. His choices signal that the U.S. will be subjected to brutal Parasite Guild measures, including privatizations via the Washington Consensus model. Part of this operation involves the shredding of employee pension plans.

This is a blend between Washington Consensus looting and raiding through privatizations and a mechanism called the public-private partnership (PPP, or P3). Both are classic operations to privatize profits for the kleptocratic oligarchical class and socialize losses for average citizens. New Jersey Attorney General Gurbir Grewal on Monday warned that those who violate recent orders issued by Gov. Phil Murphy (D) barring nonapproved social gatherings and shutting down nonessential retail businesses could face “criminal consequences.”

The executive orders signed by Murphy over the weekend bar people in the state from throwing unauthorized social events. The orders also require nonessential retail businesses to “close storefront and/or brick-and-mortar premises” and state that “all recreational and entertainment businesses must close to the public.”  Continue reading “New Jersey attorney general says those who break ‘stay at home’ order could face jail time, fines up to $1,000”

“Nobody”, the New Hampshire candidate for governor challenging incumbent Chris Sununu in the republican primary has already gotten coverage in the Boston Globe for his announcement of an event to challenge Sununu’s outrageous ban on free assembly of over 50 people. Actually, as I am writing this article, Sununu just announced at a press conference that he’s now restricting gatherings to no more than TEN people. We’re still waiting on the written “order”, but it will likely be posted here to the governor’s website later. The British government has ordered people to stay in their homes and only to leave in a very limited number of circumstances, as well as banning public gatherings of more than two people in an attempt to slow the spread of the coronavirus.

Addressing the nation on Monday evening after a three-hour meeting of the government COBRA emergency planning group, Prime Minister Boris Johnson said that measures announced so far — which included ordering pubs, bars, and restaurants to close and advising the public to stay at home — were no longer enough to prevent coronavirus spreading through the country too quickly.  Continue reading “UK Coronavirus Lockdown: ‘If You Don’t Follow the Rules, the Police Will Have the Powers to Enforce Them’”

Rethink Mental Illness

The Mental Health Act must continue to function effectively throughout the Covid-19 pandemic, in order to ensure the safety, care, and treatment of people severely affected by mental illness. Emergency legislation has been introduced to Parliament which includes temporary measures to change the Mental Health Act. This is because the government is concerned that Covid-19 will reduce the number of mental health professionals available to help people whose mental health places them at risk.
