America’s COVID-19 vaccination program has been plagued with logistical issues from the start, but increasingly it seems a new enemy — misinformation — is proving even more dangerous. On social media, individuals have been perpetuating myths about the COVID-19 vaccine for weeks, claiming it can cause infertility or can alter a person’s DNA, neither of which is true.
The latest myth, that the vaccine is responsible for several recent deaths, may be the most alarming. Continue reading “No evidence COVID-19 vaccines cause death, epidemiologists say: ‘Coincidences are going to happen’”
More than 200 Catholic dioceses received billions in funding from the Paycheck Protection Program, the taxpayer-backed rescue fund for bailing out businesses dying of Covid-19 shutdowns – reportedly more than any other applicant.
The 200-plus dioceses, and the churches and schools the Catholic Church operates under their names pulled down over $3 billion in taxpayer-funded aid from the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP), as part of the US coronavirus bailout of small businesses, according to an Associated Press (AP) investigative report published on Thursday. If you’ve ever filled out a Form 4473, you’re familiar with the Question 11e: “Are you an unlawful user of, or addicted to, marijuana or any depressant, stimulant, narcotic drug, or other controlled substance?” In case you thought there was any ambiguity with regard to medical marijuana, you were wrong. Don’t post your vaccination card on social media, no matter how thrilled you are to be inoculated, the Better Business Bureau (BBB) is warning.
The caution from the consumer protection nonprofit comes amid encouragement from health care providers and the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to share personal vaccination news as a means to encourage others. Continue reading “Don’t post your COVID-19 vaccine card online”
An unprecedented number of people who are legally barred from owning guns managed to buy them in 2020 through the so-called “Charleston loophole,” according to data obtained by the advocacy group Everytown for Gun Safety.
The “loophole” allows gun dealers to complete sales after three days if a buyer’s background check has not been completed by the FBI. If the agency later determines that the buyer should not have been allowed to get the gun, it refers the case to the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, which is tasked with recovering it. There were 5,807 cases in which gun purchases should have been prohibited last year through November 3, 2020, on pace to roughly double the 3,139 total for all of 2019. It is a general rule that corrupt economies tend to operate on faith and not on fundamentals. And to be clear, it’s not so much about naive faith that the system is stable or functional. No, it’s more about the masses having faith that the corruption and instability will never be derailed. Most people are not as stupid as the establishment and central bankers think they are – Almost everyone knows the system is broken, they just refuse to consider the possibility that the fraud will be disrupted, or that it will be allowed to fail. In what one leading digital rights advocate is calling “the largest expansion of corporate surveillance in human history,” Amazon has begun installing artificial intelligence-equipped cameras in some of its partners’ delivery vehicles to monitor drivers while they work, a move that is raising broader concerns about privacy and corporate power.
CNBC reported Wednesday that Amazon’s AI-powered, four-lens cameras—called Driveri—are being tested in a handful of contracted delivery vehicles. The cameras are manufactured by Netradyne, a San Diego-based startup, and record 100% of the time while vans are operating. They watch and record not only the drivers, but also the road and what’s happening around the vehicles. WASHINGTON (Reuters) – The U.S. Justice Department is considering whether to charge members of far-right groups involved in the deadly Jan. 6 storming of the Capitol under a federal law usually used against organized crime, according to two law enforcement sources.
The Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act, known as RICO, enables prosecutors to combat certain ongoing racketeering crimes such as murder, kidnapping, bribery and money laundering. The 1970 statute provides for hefty criminal penalties including up to 20 years in prison and seizure of assets obtained illegally through a criminal enterprise. The American Civil Liberties Union, which has been AWOL from the fight over free speech on social media, has apparently kept itself busy studying science, finding that biological males don’t have physical advantages over females.
The ACLU posted a series of Twitter messages on Wednesday, taking on various beliefs about transgender athletes that it called “myths.” The group said those beliefs, such as transgender girls having physiological advantages over biological girls, have been “debunked.”

A New York University study released this week claiming that Twitter and Facebook do not censor the “political right” has been widely mocked and lambasted as a symbol of the conflict of interests and lack of credibility in American academia.
The most Orwellian aspect of this story is that the paper was financed by tech billionaire Craig Newmark, who is Jewish and a leading member of the Anti-Defamation League’s Silicon Valley speech suppression lobby, the Center for Technology and Society (CTS).

Montgomery, AL — Tommy Lee Rutledge, 44, spent the last moments of his life shoving his face as close as he could to the window of his cell gasping for cooler air. Heat was being pumped into his prison cell in the mental health ward and he had no way to escape it, causing his body temp to skyrocket to 109, killing him from hypothermia.
The Alabama Department of Corrections has refused to answer any questions as to why Rutledge’s cell was so hot given the fact that on the night he died, the outside temperature was 31 degrees. They cited an “ongoing investigation” as their reason for silence. Continue reading “Jail Pumps Heat into Mentally Ill Man’s Cell Until His Body Temp Reached 109 and He Died”
