New jobless claims dropped to 385,000 last week as inflation continues to rise. There are at present 10 million 99ers. There are over 8.9 million Americans still collecting unemployment benefits at present. No new jobs are being created in spite of what the propagandists say.
At this rate there could very well be 19 to 20 million 99ers by the 2012 election and if you want to count all the long term unemployed, I have to believe that that number would come in at right around 30 million.
New York City has a population of 8,247,527. So we are looking at the equivalent of the population of New York City drawing unemployment, that many again who have already exhausted their benefits, and that many again who are just plain out of work.
If this problem was centralized in one state there would have already been an uprising. How many total unemployed in the United States is it going to take before it is admitted that there is a serious problem?
Think about 20 million people out of work and Barry Soetoro coming on nationwide television to make his college basketball picks.
Just before the 2010 Congressional elections it was stated that jobs was the number one issue with voters in this country. Not spending, not deficits, and sure as hell not basketball teams. So from that time until now what has been done to address the number one problem in America?
Nothing, the only actions the traitors in our government have taken are to cut taxes for the rich and deregulate industry. This is a wanton destruction of our economy and indeed our country.
How many billions of dollars worth of our natural resources have been shipped out of this country since the 2010 election that we 99ers, as equal owners of, have not received a red cent of compensation for?
We as citizens are put in a situation of force majeure by natural law. We should not be held accountable for any action we take to preserve our lives short of causing physical harm to another citizen.
If you are lost out in the wilderness you cannot be held as a poacher for taking what food you have to take to survive until you can be rescued. It comes down to our right to life, hence to live. I would like to see a case wherein this legal theory was argued just to see how the government would answer.
The fact is you pretty much have to be put clear out on the street before you can even get food stamps and then you can’t get food stamps unless you have means to refrigerate and cook the food. The bottom line is you have to lose everything before you can get anything. I guess the programs were designed this way so that when the elites decided to cash in the lives of the 99ers they would be assured of getting everything we had gained in the last thirty or forty years.
To reiterate how unfair the whole situation is is like beating a dead horse. Only actions are going to change anything and for those who say the people who come on the 99er sites are not doing anything, I have to ask, “What are you doing?”
If the Easter Project and the April 2nd Rally become a reality it will be because of the people who have dedicated themselves to the unification of the 99ers through the web. For those who would say this is not so, I would say, “What, if anything, do you think would be happening if not for the sites?”
If we had a tenth of the resources that the labor unions have I believe we would have already taken the corporate bastards to task. But as things stand now we can only do our best with the scant resources at hand until our numbers and communication become sufficient to at least know what other 99ers are in the same town as any one of us.
From the Trenches, though slowly, is growing and not just in numbers, but in intellect. I believe with just the people we have showing up every day, if we could get just one extension, in pooling our resources we could become a force that our enemies could never bring this far down again.
We know without a doubt that funding is not the true reason that we are being denied help. The fact is if an unemployment extension passes it is going to seem to the rest of the country as if 10 million pissed off unemployed people just appeared out of nowhere. Why? Because they will be forced to count us again and the rest of the country will be privy to the fact that 99ers were not included in the last unemployment extension.
If we are going to get an extension it is going to be because enough of us forced it to happen. I tell you now the Easter Project, if put forth with sufficient numbers can force that one extension that could bring us back into the mainstream reality.
I see some people trying to organize the protests. What I do not see is others coming on the site to say, “Yeah, I’m in your area, let’s do it.” If the Easter Project does not materialize we 99ers will have no one to blame but ourselves.

Glenn Beck has basically taken over Alex Jones’s format. I believe that in truth he is working for the ADL and when a crucial time arises he will mislead the people just far enough to cause those he is truly loyal to, to avert their judgment. Take for instance when he was going to prove the existence of the FEMA camps. I know for a fact he was provided with indisputable evidence which he buried. He then went on to supposedly debunk the fact of the FEMA camps.
Like I said, I think he is a sleeper agent and he is not the only one. Ex-federal District Judge Andrew Napolitano is another. He is using his spiel at turning the truth (twisting) to the point of providing protection for those who have stolen our wealth. You see he is saying constitutional safeguards should be enforced immediately to protect the stolen wealth of the corporate elite. He thinks we will forget that he was a member of the federal judicial when those very same constitutional laws were being violated when the rich were stealing the wealth from the poor.

Many of us have food stamps and a place to live. I realize there are many who are homeless too. Aid needs to be given to the 99ers, of course. I just think your hurting your articles by exaggeration. It’s coming across as illogical.

How food stamps are distributed does depend on what you have and how much you have. I know of people who are just able to scrounge enough to make their house payments and the fact that they are buying the house and can make the payment keeps them from getting food stamps. And you do have to have a place to cook and a way to store the food before you can get them.
The fact is there is nothing in it for me to sensationalize. To date I have not made one dollar off of this fucking site. In short, if you don’t like the content, don’t come here.

Henry’s speaking the truth! It doesn’t have to be a house payment, I know 99ers who are renters ( in places where one Must have a vehicle), barely making car payments and were denied food stamps.
Guess what… the “general relief” that the DPSS offers.. well, it’s a LOAN, yes, you read that correctly! It’s a loan that you will eventually pay back in your golden years. From what I understand, your social security checks will be garnished, in effect. The food stamp situation is a literal nightmare. I think one should automatically go with the other. If you are collecting Unemployment Insurance, food assistance should also follow. The Unemployment is a fraction of what we earned, we still can’t feed ourselves. I have a personal story about FOOD PANTRIES. I went to 2 different food pantries in my area. One, would give out EXPIRED, WILTED, ROTTEN food. Now, how is that ever a good thing? I got soooo sick from deli soup one day, I thought I was going to pass out. How then, was I going to pay for a Drs. visit??? They gave out soy milk 2 months past it’s due date, the eggs didn’t have a date, yogurt was coddled, and the list goes on and on…… The next food pantry, pretty much the same thing, but something a little extra… they had mentally challenged persons helping out there… and one man, (who was clearly handicapped), druled on my bag of food. Disgusting! These places are not always as benevolent as they appear. We are the throw-aways. I had to revert to these places, because I was “making too much on Unemployment Insurance”. Yet, it only paid for a fraction of my rent, and I still needed food. I even appealed the denial decision.. and lost my beautiful 92 mustang on the way back on an LA freeway. The blind bastard judge couldn’t even drag his sorry bum to the appeal hearing. I had to speak to him in a box, you know, a conference call…. he smugly told me that I need to contact my congress people to try and get the law changed to increase the amount of money to qualify for food assistance. REALLY? contact them? What a joke and a half. I wish he would have called me at my apt to relay those words of wisdom, so I didn’t have to lose my only means of transportation. Spineless Bastard!
My thoughts! We can only fight back. So lets take big white tarp and string it across all the highway overpasses. It will read; Long Term Unemployed children are starving. Google unemployment and sign our petitions. HELP AMERICAN CHILDREN! Make more than one and keep stringing them up to any overpass. You know that someone will keep taking them down and thats why you want to make more than one. Also if you know anyone with a private plane we can have them string a banner that reads ” Long Term Unemployed children starving” Google UI and save American children! Cindy, We only delete comments placed by trolls. Quite frankly I do not know any 99ers who know someone who has a plane, that is not to say they do not exist. Any ideas for possitive action are always welcome. And as I’ve said before this site belongs to all 99ers and the idea with the banners I really like. So keep up the good work.
I am going to take another approach for spreading our word. I am going to appeal to the rich people in the world, actors, baseball, football players and singers. I know they don’t read their facebook pages but you never know if there will be a moment when this cause could be mentioned and a famous person could act on it. It certainly would increase their popularity. Sandra Bullock just sent a million dollars to Japan. It could happen here. I don’t have anything better to do so I will give it a shot and continue my other work also.
Barbara, I will tell you this. If anything is going to work I believe it is going to result from an idea that comes from outside the box. In fact at this point and time the more unpredictable we are the better. The fact is they are trying to drive us off the deep end. Maybe they need to start thinking about what will happen if they succeed.
It is comforting to know that there are more people out there like me that are looking for anything to do that might stand the slightest chance of advancing the cause. If all 10 million of us had the same attitude this whole thing would have been over with a long time ago. Hell, it probably wouldn’t have even happened.

I tried for 2 years to get food assistance. I was denied, but I still needed food. I was told that I make too much on Unemployment Insurance. I appealed that denial, because I was still hungry and in need of food. I drove all the way to the Wilshire district to appeal the denial decision. I was told I would meet with a judge. I’m not even sure it was him… a “conference” call is what was to be. I had to speak to him in a BOX. The sorry bastard couldn’t even drag himself to speak to me in person. He callously told me that help was out of his hand, that I would have to contact my legislators to try and get the law changed to raise the income requirements for receiving food assistance/stamps. On the way home, I lost my car. I got into a freeway accident and my car was totaled. Not only did I not have food, now I had lost my only means of transportation.
