Louisiana State Rep. Calls For Stricter Gun Control Laws After Theater Shooting

Huffington Post – by Paige Lavender

Louisiana state Rep. Terry Landry Sr. (D) called for more gun control at a press conference Friday after the shooting at a Lafayette, Louisiana movie theater.

A shooter identified by police as 59-year-old John Russel Houser opened fire in a movie theater Thursday night, killing two people and himself.

“It’s our job as legislators to close the loopholes in these gun laws,” Landry said.

Landry said it’s a problem when a person who is mentally unstable “can get access to a gun and wreak havoc on our community.”

“We have to have a serious conversation, we have to have serious repeals on some of these gun restrictions, or lack of gun restrictions in our community,” he said.

As ThinkProgress pointed out Friday, Louisiana has some of the most relaxed gun control laws in the nation. Police have yet to release information about how Houser acquired the gun used in Thursday’s shooting.

  1. These guys are like cockroaches. Something happens and they are like roaches on a cake filled counter. Turn on the lights( truth) and they scatter to the dark recesses of the walls crawling all over each other waiting for the next crumb to fall.

    1. I’m calling for a criminal investigation into these alleged “shootings”. Sandy Hook, Chattanooga, church shooting, and this most recent theater shooting. If found to be a hoax, all officials and politicians that tried to represent these events as real shootings be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

  2. “It’s our job as legislators to close the loopholes in these gun laws,” Landry said.”

That’s what the jews pay you to do.

    Infringe.

  3. “He seemed like just another patron as he entered Lafayette’s Grand 16 theater, one of 25 people who bought tickets to the romantic comedy starring feminist jokester Amy Schumer as a boozing, promiscuous reporter.”

Sooo, only 25 inside the theater? Must be a real must see? Thanks Angel for the link to amy and chuck schumer being relatives last night btw. Definitely sheds some light on this flop of a film but big hit for the occupying j mob.

    1. “The shooting occurred about 20 minutes into a 7 p.m. screening of the comedy “Trainwreck.” There were nearly 100 people in the theater during the time of the attack.”

      What’s in a number, right?

      Slight miscalculation.

      1. LOL! Eh, minor miscalculation I am sure! 6 million, 272,000, probably less? Whatever! Damn kikes are only good at math when they’re funneling shekels from your account into theirs and it works to their benefit.

          1. Damn thieves. Hey #1, any followup on that “me” poster Henry responded to? He claimed to be able to substantiate the shooting and admitted to trolling FTTWR for dialogue re authenticating it…wasn’t sure if you saw that or not?

          2. No clue, Martist. Missed that one, and Ryan didn’t see it either. I didn’t comment at all yesterday, if that’s when it happened.

  4. Cool. Thanks #1. Wasn’t sure if anything was mentioned on the show yesterday. Problem with player on my phone. Only info “me” had to offer was rehash of msm lines anyway and was trying to sell as God’s lips to my ears insider info.
