(March 17, 2003) You will be happy to learn that the former head of the KGB (the secret police of the former Soviet Union), General Yevgeni Primakov, has been hired as a consultant by the US Department of Homeland Security. Do you think he will share his expertise in “security” to prepare US citizens for domestic internal passports under the pretense of fighting the never-ending “War on Terrorism”?

CAPPS II is the name of the new program which is technically under the auspices of the US Department of Transporation, but that’s only technical and the only reason they did that was to use the Transportation Department s budget to buy the computer hardware and software they need. Within hours of the storming of the Capitol on January 6, the FBI began securing thousands of phone and electronic records connected to people at the scene of the rioting — including some related to members of Congress, raising potentially thorny legal questions.

Using special emergency powers and other measures, the FBI has collected reams of private cellphone data and communications that go beyond the videos that rioters shared widely on social media, according to two sources with knowledge of the collection effort. WASHINGTON – After a contentious debate on the Equality Act, which would extend civil rights protections to the LGBTQ community, Rep. Marie Newman, D-Ill., on Wednesday raised a transgender pride flag outside her office – which happens to sit directly across from the office of Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga., one of the bill’s most vocal opponents.

“Our neighbor, @RepMTG, tried to block the Equality Act because she believes prohibiting discrimination against trans Americans is ‘disgusting, immoral, and evil,'” Newman, who has a transgender daughter, wrote on Twitter with a video of her hanging the flag. “Thought we’d put up our Transgender flag so she can look at it every time she opens her door.” Continue reading “Marjorie Taylor Greene blasted for attacking colleague’s transgender child”

Mexican president Andrés Manuel López Obrador quietly rocked the agribusiness world with his New Year’s Eve decree to phase out use of the herbicide glyphosate and the cultivation of genetically modified corn. His administration sent an even stronger aftershock two weeks later, clarifying that the government would also phase out GM corn imports in three years and the ban would include not just corn for human consumption but yellow corn destined primarily for livestock. Under NAFTA, the United States has seen a 400% increase in corn exports to Mexico, the vast majority genetically modified yellow dent corn. Are vaccine passports imperative if this country is ever going to return to normality? Or do they represent another unacceptable infringement of our liberties, as well as being deeply impractical?

The Government until recently has leant towards the second view. Nadhim Zahawi, the vaccines minister, dismissed vaccine passports earlier this month as ‘discriminatory’. Only 10 days ago, Health Secretary Matt Hancock declared that they ‘are not anything we are planning to introduce here’. Continue reading “STEPHEN GLOVER: Why I want a vaccine passport”
