One of the largest subprime auto finance companies, Santander Consumer USA Holdings, verified the income on less than 3% of borrowers this year, according to Bloomberg. And in painfully vivid shares of 2008, it then took those loans and bundled them into more than $1 billion in bonds sold this year. The National Rifle Association sued San Francisco on Monday over the city’s recent declaration that the gun-rights lobby is a “domestic terrorist organization.”
The lawsuit, filed in U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California, accuses city officials of violating the gun lobby’s free speech rights for political reasons and says the city is seeking to blacklist anyone associated with the NRA. Fall color will likely reach its peak later than usual this year across a large portion of the United States, and the weather is to blame.
By mid-September, some parts of the Rockies and northern tier often begin to see the early stages of fall color, eventually reaching a late-September peak in the Rockies’ highest elevations, northern MInnesota and northern New England. A former top official in the Federal Emergency Management Agency was arrested on Tuesday for allegedly taking bribes from the head of a company who received $1.8 billion in federal contracts to repair Puerto Rico’s power grid after Hurricane Maria devastated the island in 2017.

A sixth person has died of a severe lung disease tied to vaping.

Hurricane Dorian’s storm surge and battering surf changed the coastline of parts of North Carolina’s southernmost Outer Banks by carving dozens of new inlets into the beach there.
The National Park Service (NPS) estimated 54 new inlets were cut into the narrow strip of sandy beaches in the southernmost Outer Banks. The storm also cause damaged to historic structures and cabins along North Carolina’s Cape Lookout National Seashore.

In Australia, they want to make it a criminal act with a penalty of 2 years in prison for purchasing anything with more than $10,000 in cash. Australia is really going off the deep end. They are desperately trying to eliminate all cash and are forcing people to have only bank accounts so they can tax them as they like. This ensures that when there are bank failures, they can just confiscate the people’s money to save the bankers. Australia began as a penal colony, and they seem to retain that idea that the people are really criminals in their minds and are not entitled to their own assets. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was at a campaign event in the southern Israeli city of Ashdod Tuesday when Hamas rockets were fired on the city.

They have been touting this scenario since the 1930s when there was the Dust Bowl. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced Tuesday that he may annex the Jordan Valley and other parts of the occupied West Bank “in coordination” with the United States in an apparent last-ditch effort to attract right-wing voters.
