FBI AGENTS ARE devoting substantial resources to a multistate hunt for two baby piglets that the bureau believes are named Lucy and Ethel. The two piglets were removed over the summer from the Circle Four Farm in Utah by animal rights activists who had entered the Smithfield Foods-owned factory farm to film the brutal, torturous conditions in which the pigs are bred in order to be slaughtered.

While filming the conditions at the Smithfield facility, activists saw the two ailing baby piglets laying on the ground, visibly ill and near death, surrounded by the rotting corpses of dead piglets. “One was swollen and barely able to stand; the other had been trampled and was covered in blood,” said Wayne Hsiung of Direct Action Everywhere (DxE), which filmed the facility and performed the rescue. Right now, Earth is passing through the tail of debris left behind by the comet 21P/Giacobini-Zinner, which sounds scary, but is actually awesome, because it brings us the spectacular Draconid meteor shower, peaking on October 7 and 8.

Most years the Draconids are quite mild, but every few years the meteor shower unexpectedly bursts into storm. In a Thursday op-ed for the establishment New York Times, supposed conservative Bret Stephens called for the full on repeal of the Second Amendment in the wake of the largest mass shooting in American history.

A Miami Beach man is facing criminal charges after he created a parody account purporting to be Ernesto Rodriguez, a spokesman for the Miami Beach Police Department. The defendant, Ernesto Orsetti, is charged with impersonating a law enforcement officer, a third-degree felony, according to a press release posted by the Miami New Times.

Phoenix, Arizona, resident Jonathan Pring called police and surrendered all of his guns in hopes of making a statement following the heinous attack on concertgoers in Las Vegas.

According to 12 News, Pring said the Vegas attack made him “think about what was important in life,” and he listed family as number one. He then said, “I would hate for that to happen to my family and it suddenly made me think how ridiculous this whole gun debate is in America. Funny man Ralphie May has died at age 45.

“We are heartbroken to announce the untimely death of our friend, Ralphie May,” his rep confirmed to Page Six on Friday. “Earlier this morning at a private residence in Las Vegas his body was discovered, cause of death is cardiac arrest.”
