The White House says US President Barack Obama will not meet with his Iranian counterpart Hassan Rouhani on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly in New York next week.

When he was out of his car, two men robbed him of his keys and cellphone at gunpoint before getting into the victim’s car in an attempt to leave. The FY14 Continuing Resolution (CR) spending bill is soon to be on the table in the Senate, and hidden in this bill is a continuance of the controversial “Monsanto Protection Act” that was passed 6 months ago (HR 933) amidst enormous public outcry.

President Obama vowed Monday to hold responsible those who carried out the “cowardly” mass shooting at the Washington Navy Yard, while calling the victims “patriots” who served their nation.

A Syrian military helicopter crashed near the Turkish border on Monday, a monitoring group reported, adding that there were conflicting reports about what brought it down.
