An American analyst foresees the impeachment of US President Barack Obama if he goes ahead with a plan to launch military action on Syria despite likely opposition by Congress.

“The big danger is that Congress will say ‘no’ [to an Obama war authorization on Syria] and then Obama will proceed to bomb. If he does, he will be impeached for sure,” said Washington-based author and historian Webster Griffin Tarpley in a Sunday interview with Press TV.    Continue reading “Obama may be impeached if wages Syria war: Analyst”

Americans have been repeatedly told that Al Qaeda under the helm of the late Osama bin Laden was responsible for the 9/11 attacks.

Formulated in the wake of the tragic events of september 11, 2001, the U.S. and its allies launched a “Global War on Terrorism” (GWOT) directed against the numerous “jihadist” Al Qaeda affiliated terror formations in the Middle East, Africa, Central Asia and South East Asia. The first stage of the “Global War on Terrorism” was the bombing and invasion of Afghanistan.   Continue reading “What Happened to the “Global War on Terrorism”? A Belgian writer, Pierre Piccinin, who had been held captive by Syrian rebels for five months, says that his captors admitted that Syrian President Bashar Assad was not responsible for the chemical attack that resulted in what is referred to as the Ghouta massacre.

The video below is in French, but the translation from the details over at YouTube, says “The Belgian teacher Pierre Piccinin da Prata, abducted in Syria in April and released on Sunday, gave an interview to RTL-TVI Monday morning. He indicated that the sarin gas had been used by the rebels, and not by the Syrian regime. This is not the Assad government used the sarin gas.”   Continue reading “Freed Syrian Hostage: Assad Not Responsible For Chemical Attacks”

The US secretary of state has said that President Bashar al-Assad has one week to hand over his entire stock of chemical weapons to avoid a military attack. But John Kerry added that he had no expectation that the Syrian leader would comply.

Kerry also said he had no doubt that Assad was responsible for the chemical weapons attack in east Damascus on 21 August, saying that only three people are responsible for the chemical weapons inside Syria– Assad, one of his brothers and a senior general. He said the entire US intelligence community was united in believing Assad was responsible.   Continue reading “John Kerry gives Syria week to hand over chemical weapons or face attack”

WOODLAND PARK, N.J. — The public agency that owned the World Trade Center sold its naming rights to a nonprofit more than two decades ago for $10 and now pays thousands of dollars a year to use the name, according to a published report.

The Record newspaper of New Jersey reports (http://bit.ly/1erptJM) that a contract shows the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey sold the rights to the World Trade Centers Association in 1986. The newspaper obtained the contract through a Freedom of Information Act request.   Continue reading “World Trade Center Naming Rights Were Sold For $10 In 1986: Report”

In Chicago and Indiana the contentious police-state tactic of officers stopping random pedestrians for warrantless pat downs is no longer a concern just for residents of New York City. The practice, it seems, is spreading to police departments throughout the Nation.

“With the new Region STOP Team, no bust – or suspicious glance – is too small. Because you never know what crime you could be preventing or what wanted person you might find,” the news report says.   Continue reading “Police begin using “Region Stop Teams” to stop drivers who look at them the wrong way”

’ll say one thing in defense of the men (and women) of the East German Stasi, the Soviet-era KGB, the Red Guards – and other such like throughout the history of totalitarian regimes: They had little real choice. It was either brutalize their fellow citizens – or join the ranks of the brutalized.

The United State is not quite there yet. It is merely at the late Czarist Russia – or Weimar Germany – stage.   Continue reading “Profiles in Pork”

Lily Tang Williams writing at National Review has a must read column entitled Guns Against Tyranny.  It has become almost amusing to watch as the collectivists hyperventilate over claims that we make about right to guns having nothing to do with hunting, and everything to do with ameliorating tyranny.  But what Ms. Williams has to say is sobering and gives existential and emotional import to what is for us sometimes all about doctrine.   Continue reading “Guns Against Tyranny”

WEB Notes: Your government thinks you are a complete idiot. Kerry says the United States is not going to war. Then he proceeds to explain exactly what steps of war they will take against Assad. In his mind, dropping bombs on nations and killing people is not considered war. President Bashar al-Assad did not personally order last month’s chemical weapons attack near Damascus that has triggered calls for US military intervention, and blocked numerous requests from his military commanders to use chemical weapons against regime opponents in recent months, a German newspaper has reported , citing unidentified, high-level national security sources.

The intelligence findings were based on phone calls intercepted by a German surveillance ship operated by the BND, the German intelligence service, and deployed off the Syrian coast, Bild am Sonntag said. The intercepted communications suggested Assad, who is accused of war crimes by the west, including foreign secretary William Hague, was not himself involved in last month’s attack or in other instances when government forces have allegedly used chemical weapons.   Continue reading “Assad did not order Syria chemical weapons attack, says German press”
