Houston Chronicle  DUBAI, United Arab Emirates (AP) — A U.S. Navy guided missile destroyer was left with a gaping hole on one side after it collided with an oil tanker early Sunday just outside the strategic Strait of Hormuz.

The collision left a breach about 10 feet by 10 feet (three by three meters) in the starboard side of USS Porter. No one was injured on either vessel, the U.S. Navy said in a statement.

Policy Mic  Throughout the Republican primaries, the Mitt Romney campaign did a fairly decent job at keeping Romney above the fray. He made the occasional $10,000 bet on national television and agreed with Obama’s signing of the NDAA, but for the most part, he remained low key. It was his front-runner position to lose after all, right? Instead of critiquing the assumed front-runner, the mainstream media hyped up the  “anti-Mitt” candidate.

Newt Gingrich, Rick Perry, and Rick Santorum — who claimed “Romney was the worst Republican in the country to put up against Barack Obama,”then later endorsed Romney — were all considered top contenders. Now that the spotlight is focused on the presumptive nominee, his flaws are all too apparent. Is Romney really the best choice for conservatives?

The Atlantic  Under Paul Ryan’s plan, Mitt Romney wouldn’t pay any taxes for the next ten years — or any of the years after that. Now, do I know that that’s true. Yes, I’m certain.

Well, maybe not quite nothing. In 2010 — the only year we have seen a full return from him — Romney would have paid an effective tax rate of around 0.82 percent under the Ryan plan, rather than the 13.9 percent he actually did. How would someone with more than $21 million in taxable income pay so little? Well, the vast majority of Romney’s income came from capital gains, interest, and dividends. And Ryan wants to eliminate all taxes on capital gains, interest and dividends.

The propaganda machine has launched its final blitz before the Republican Convention with Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan on tour.  The crowds that have accumulated consist of every neo-con that could be ordered into service.  But check this out.  This is all of them.  These are the people who will vote for Mitt Romney and their numbers are so minute as to be laughable.

The accumulation of the total crowds for a full day of tours would not make a quarter of those who came forth for Ron Paul at a single event.  And look at these pukes as they wave their little flags made in China and chant, “USA, USA”.  These are the elite.  This is the 1% and the 20% of the top 10% who have their lips firmly attached to the backsides of the 1%.

The “presumptive” GOP candidate Mitt Romney, today, aboard a Navy vessel at Norfolk, Virginia, announced that Bilderbergers has chosen Paul Ryan as his “presumptive” running mate.  If there was ever any doubt in anyone’s mind as to the intent behind a Romney candidacy, it should be dispelled at this point.

Paul Ryan is a notorious lapdog of the corporate elite and has promised them our Social Security accounts, our retirement accounts, our food, and medical care as his tribute to them for his advancement within the international corporate mafia.  He has also taken a knee and kissed the ring of Israeli King Netanyahu and sworn the blood and broken lives of as many of our young people as it will take to achieve Israeli conquest of the Middle East and its resources.

The national average price for a gallon of gasoline has risen to $3.67 per gallon from $3.38 per gallon just one month ago, and like every time the oil barons decide to gouge us there are 101 excuses as to why.  When the gouging first began in the 1970s, we were told that we were being robbed as a result of supply and demand.

OPEC was created in 1960.  Its express purpose is to control the amount of oil available on the world market.  Then by the 70s, the big push in the United States was for us to become a part of the world economy and the world market.

RT News  Two strong quakes have shaken northern Iran, leaving at least 40 dead and 400 injured, Reuters reports. The quake has also disrupted communications, complicating the rescue efforts.

The quakes, measuring 6.4 and 6.3 on the Richter scale, struck near the towns of Tabriz and Ahar. However, most of the dead are thought to be in the surrounding villages.

Just what was his tactic? He complained that his wife Michelle did not receive a salary for her First Lady duties.

First Lady duties? Say what? No one elected Mrs. Obama or gave her a post to represent the people. Why should we then pay her for being Obama’s wife? Bill O’Reilly has stepped up front and center with a new line of propaganda, designed to bolster support for the failed US drug war.  The case for legalization has to be considered a strong one in the face of a $40 billion per year price tag and our failing economy.

O’Reilly is not but a corporate lapdog sent forth to protect revenue, emphasizing his propaganda piece by saying that in the end it is the person who purchases and consumes the drug that is the problem.  It is just what you would expect out of the mouth of a representative of the international corporate mafia, the Irish branch.
